This is a great introduction to Riga. I enjoyed seeing the main sites in Old Town and seeing all the art nouveau buildings. I didn’t know much about Latvia’s architecture before this trip but thanks to my guide, Jimmy, I’ve developed an interest. He knew so much about the buildings, the architects and history. I also loved visiting the market and even went back after the tour. We saw and sampled different varieties of traditional Latvian food, which was a nice experience. It was also great to get good recommendations on restaurants and museums in the area. Definitely a worthwhile tour.
I’m glad to heard that you enjoyed the tour :) thanks so much for visiting Latvia and taking one of my tours :)
The tour was disappointing and could have been much better. The guide was friendly but wasn’t able to answer basic questions anbout history or the sites. We could have done the walking tour on our own saving hundreds of Euros. It was the worst tour we took in the Baltic countries. Even if the tour was half the price it wasn’t worth it.
Ginger, you are the first person complaining & I guess it because you got mad at me after you told me that, you wanted to go inside of the catedral and I said not because we have so much to see and the time won’t be enough… . Just you know, you booked a set tour of 3 hours and not 4.5 hours as I gave you, after spending 1.5 extra hours with you, without getting payed I think this review is not fair at all. I would recommend you for next time to take private tour that is not setup, so you can use the time of guide as you want. Jimmy
This is a long walking tour through the extensive fresh markets of Riga, along with incredible architectural gems around the city. Our guide, Jimmy, was warm, knowledgable and very patient, and we highly recommend him and this tour.
It make me happy to know that you got a good time Tina & family. Thanks for leaving a review :)
Jimmy is very knowledgeable, he took us to the market and show us this amazing place that was build with remains of zeppelin’s hangars, then we walked the old town and we finished with this beautiful street of Art Nouveau buildings. Thanks again Jimmy!!
My husband and I took a weekend trip to Riga and were looking for an efficient way to experience the must-see of this city. We were lucky to have chosen this tour and Jimmy as our guide for the day. Jimmy is very knowledgeable and makes the walk fun by sneaking in little treats of hidden gems or a nice drink along the way. You will get to learn about history, architecture and get a taste of everyday life in Riga. Highly remommended
