Wonderful people and beautiful view! The beach was breathtaking and we got some great pictures. We hope to see the turtles next time.
I really wanted to make my Los Cabos experience something special, so I decided to go for the horseback riding excursion offered through my cruise. We waited forever just to get on the van. Once we got there, we were charged an extra $10 for the national park entrance fee, something that was never mentioned when I booked on the ship. The horses were not in great shape, their hooves were seriously in need of trimming. My wife works with horses and she was genuinely shocked. According to the volunteers, they’d been trying to get a farrier out there for weeks, but no one ever showed up :( The actual ride was only 1 hour, even though we were sold a 3-hour tour. What they don’t tell you upfront is that the “3 hours” includes travel time and the whole briefing. The pictures were actually really pretty, but way overpriced for shots taken by volunteers rather than professional photographers. I came back feeling disappointed and frustrated by all the little details that just aren’t made clear from the start. One shoutout though: my horse Molena was absolutely awesome!
Horseback Adventure - Absolutely amazing 🐴 ride along well cared for trails and the Pacific Ocean. Trail ride itself is +/- one hour. Carisuva never disappoints from the time they pick us up at the Resort until they drop us back off. Air-conditioned van and safe driver. (they also offer Cruise Ship port pickup and dropoff) Well trained guides. Professional Photographer and photos. The ranch building is clean and has restrooms to use and free lockers for your stuff. And the horses? - HEALTHY, well trained, Loved, safe for beginner to seasoned riders. They're allowed to roam the ranch freely. At the end of the ride the guides gave us each a carrot for our horse. 🩷 If you make it to Cabo, go here for a ride. We've been to two other ranches over the years and Carisuva is our favorite. These are photos I took.
The most amazing company The horses are very well take care and the view it’s amazing The staf are very kind and friendly I really recommend this company I will coming back for the turtle release experience
Extremely disappointing and concerning experience. The ranch operates almost entirely thanks to unpaid volunteers, often without proper training, who are expected to handle a heavy workload. The atmosphere can quickly become unhealthy when things don’t go in the manager’s favor. The most alarming issue is the treatment of the animals. I personally witnessed horses being made to do multiple tours per day, for several consecutive days, despite clear signs of pain or discomfort (limping, aggressive behavior, refusal). Some older horses are still being used, and clients whose weight does not seem appropriate are nevertheless accepted. The lack of rotation and proper care deeply shocked me. Several situations involving sick or injured animals were ignored or addressed far too late. The “eco-friendly” image promoted by the ranch does not reflect the reality on the ground at all. I strongly do not recommend this place, both for volunteers and for visitors who care about animal welfare.
We had a fantastic time visiting the horse ranch and the staff and guides were so friendly and made our experience. Additionally, the driver Edgar went above and beyond. After dropping us off at our hotel, we had forgotten a bag in the lockers at the ranch. He drove all the way back to the ranch to get the bag for us. Great customer service! Highly recommend.
I booked a Carnival cruise excursion in Mexico that promised a two-hour horseback ride. What we actually got was a disorganized mess—multiple vehicle swaps, pointless delays, and barely under an hour on horseback. The rest of the time? Wasted sitting in transit. No apology. No accountability. Not even the basic courtesy of offering a partial refund. Worse, they tried to gaslight us and say it was only intended to be one hour. Most of my time in Cabo was burned sitting in vehicles instead of doing the one thing I paid for. This wasn’t a minor inconvenience—it was outright misrepresentation. Save your money. This one isn’t worth the risk. I think it would have been a great experience if everything went as planned. But when things go wrong, it’s important to be booked with an honest and straightforward vendor.
We had a really beautiful ride and were particularly impressed with how well the animals are taken care of at the ranch. The horses live there in a herd and can move freely across the cactus field and to the beach – you can clearly see that their well-being is paramount here. Right at the beginning of our tour we could see how seriously this is taken: In the herd there was a small altercation between two horses, one of the horses that was actually intended for us being kicked by another. The team responded immediately, saddled the horse, examined it thoroughly and provided us with another horse without hesitation. We were also very fortunate to only take part in the tour as two and were accompanied by a volunteer who works on the ranch and was also our guide. This made the ride feel very personal and relaxed. Our route took us through an impressive cactus landscape and finally down to the beach – a really beautiful scenery. During the ride she also told us a lot about the region and about the work of the ranch. Many of the animals have been rescued from poor conditions, and the volunteers who work there are actively helping to give them a better life. It was nice to see how much commitment they are taking care of the animals here. One of the horses was a bit frightening on the way, but our guide took care of it very carefully. She constantly made sure we felt safe and comfortable, calmly supported us and even offered to switch horses if we felt uncomfortable with it. However, a small criticism was that we had to wait about 40 minutes at the beginning before the tour could start. There seemed to be some organisational difficulties here. Overall it was still a great experience with a great landscape, very well looked after horses and a dedicated team. If you go on a tour there, you should definitely leave a tip for the volunteers – you really support a good cause with it.
We had the best time riding through the desert, up the hillside, and along the beach. Definitely recommend!
Very friendly driver-even though my sister and I got lost we had easy communication for pickup elsewhere. The ranch is amazing-less commercialized than others, which I would prefer. They also have a turtle and donkey sanctuary, dogs and chickens. Our horseback riding guide Elena was outstanding. She pointed out all the local flora and fauna along the way. The horses were gentle and heeded all your prompts. Great for beginners! Riding a horse right by the ocean will be a lasting memory!
