My granddaughter (14) and I attended the class -- we liked it 🥰 Very nice instructor. Just know that, if you are taking a taxi, they will drop you at the street level, you walk towards an alley, and the Cafe will be on your left hand side. The class will be on the second floor.
As an ancient japanese craft that is known the world over, origami is definitely something that needs to be explored to gain some understanding of another aspect of Japanese culture. As such, my partner and I took this time to make several objects including the world famous crane. It was great fun and a real eye opener on how the japanese approach these things. It was time very well spent and the user guide document that you take away is a really useful reminder of how to make these wonderful things.
Raina was an excellent host the time flew by and she was very skilful and a very patient teacher. we managed to produce a number of lovely origami items definitely a lovely experience while you are visiting Japan and we highly recommend
What a fun activity to do! The staff were very friendly and patient. We had time to make a crane, frog, samurai hat, ninja star and box! A nice way to spend a rainy afternoon in Kyoto! Would definitely recommend as a quieter activity.
Our guide was superb. Was such a relaxing activity to do and we learnt so much about origami. Would highly recommend everyone to take time out and do this creative activity.
Had a great time at the origami workshop. Our instructors were super nice and helpful. It was very exciting to learn how to make a samurai helmet and a crane amongst other cool things (although the crane is HARD). We also got a small booklet to be able to practice at home. Thank you!
The cafe where the workshop takes place is so charming! And the instructor was incredibly patient with our boys (ages 7 and 9). It was a delightful way to end our afternoon in Kyoto.
We were taught in a very patient way how to do origami. The girls teaching us were first class. They were patient and very talented teachers.
Thank you so much for such a heart warming review. It’s always our pleasure to share our culture! We look forward to seeing you in the future!
The activity has been very fun. I was the only participant so I had a private lesson. The hostess very friendly and welcoming. I didn't speak English but I fully understood all the steps. We had a great time making 4 different origamis. I stayed for a matcha later in the cafeteria and it was delicious.
¡Gracias por participar en la clase de origami! Gracias por visitar nuestra cafetería. Sus amables comentarios hacen que nuestro trabajo valga la pena. Visítenos cuando esté en Kioto.
