My 10 year old daughter and I spent a day on the Try Dive and had the most incredible time. Our instructor Alex was fantastic, so patient and kind and found us some amazing fish and coral to look at! We went from thinking we’d never be able to dive to going down really deep, and I could have spent all day there. The lunch was also great. All in all one of my favourite holiday memories thanks to Alex.

I am an experienced diver but today was my wife's first ever dive. I couldn't be happier with how it went for her. Visibility was poor on the first dive but that was fine due to the fact my wife was just getting to grips with how to dive. Our instructor, Alex Azmi, was fantastic. Young, knowledgeable, patient, a good teacher and above all a great person. The second dive was much clearer and we even saw a turtle! I would recommend it to anyone who has little/no/lots experience. Thank you for a great day out Alex and crew.

First time scuba diving and it was a great thing to try. We loved adding this to our holiday in Borneo. Alex was a great instructor and very patient. We snorkelled in the afternoon which was equally brilliant 🤩

We did the Try-Dive day out with Didi, Alex and Irwin yesterday and even if the weather was against us, it was a memorable experience. Didi is a wonderful instructor and very patient, He helped me massively with my left ear equalising issues and taught me how to dive safely. We dived down to 11 metres and saw lots of different marine species. Alex spent lots of time talking over lunch about all the different fish we might see and gave us a demonstration of free diving. Thank you all for making our day extra special!

Great experience that was worth every penny - starting with the unforgettable scenery as the boat takes you around Gaya Island. Look out for the square shaped rocks on the one edge. Looking at the vegetation on the island it seems like all the plants are growing in overdrive. Our dive instructor Yidi (Didi) was a great tour guide and is also a very effective teacher and zoned in on all the important aspects to consider with the dive and the shallow water demonstration of the diving skills is a great way to learn. Both our dives went very well and we managed to get the correct buoyancy for a smooth dive. Seen heaps of fish but the highlight was a blue spotted stingray. Great activity you won’t forget! Thanks a million!

We (2 adults and 2 teens) had a great day with excellent instruction and 2 dives. We got picked up in the boat, taken to the dive sites and all equipment needed. Didi was our guide. He very patiently explained all the necessary information for diving. We had done a similar ‘try dive’ last year and Didi seemed to explain it much better. We quickly felt relaxed under the water and Didi pointed out lots of cool fish and creatures. It was just lovely. I wish we could do it all again tomorrow but sadly it was fully booked - so book early!

Our try-dive experience with Borneo Dream Tours was incredible! The instructor and guides Alex and Azmi, were super friendly, professional and patient, making sure everyone felt comfortable and safe. The boat ride out was really beautiful and the dive site was absolutely stunning - tons of amazing marine life - we even saw a turtle! Our ages ranged from 12-21 and everyone throughly enjoyed the trip so this really is an activity for the whole family.

We had an unforgettable scuba diving experience thanks to our amazing dive instructor Alex and the incredible boat captain Yadi! As a mom diving with three kids (ages 11, 14, and 17), safety and patience were my top priorities—and both Alex and Yadi delivered above and beyond. From the moment we stepped aboard, Alex made us all feel at ease. His calm, confident demeanor and clear instructions gave my kids the courage to dive in (literally!). He was wonderfully encouraging, especially with my youngest, who was a little nervous at first. Alex made the learning process fun and reassuring, and you could instantly tell how experienced and passionate he is about diving. He struck the perfect balance between professionalism and approachability. Captain Yadi kept everything running smoothly and safely on the water. Not only was the boat spotless and well-equipped, but Yadi was constantly attentive—helping us gear up, offering support when needed, and sharing his knowledge of the area with enthusiasm and care. His presence added a layer of comfort knowing we were in such capable hands above the surface. The dive sites they chose were breathtaking, with crystal-clear waters, vibrant marine life, and just the right depth for our varying levels of experience. I left the day feeling proud, joyful, and—most importantly—grateful to Alex and Yadi for creating such a safe, magical, and family-friendly adventure.
