The tour began late due to confusion over the meeting location. This was a one-on-one tour which was very pricey and definately not worth the money. Our tour guide started late even after me trying to contact the tour operator, and then it was very disjointed and unorganized. In addition, for what we paid for the tour, there should have been more than just walking through the Tower of London and the Crown Jewels. It was not worth the price, and the tour guide was not what I would have expected for that price.
Dear Ms MCMAHON, Sorry that you feel disappointed. Your review is very misleading and incorrect. It is a Private Tour which is clearly stated and competitively priced accordingly. Not sure what you mean 'one-on-one tour which was very pricey and definitely not worth the money'. Private tours are naturally priced higher than group tours. The tour started late because you went to a wrong meeting point! The meeting point on the ticket was correct, but you chose to go to another place and then unfairly blamed everyone including Viator. Our guide started to wait at the right place 15 minutes early before the tour, at 13:15. Our guides send us evidence of their arrival time. He waited for you for 20 minutes before calling the office. We called you straight away to establish your whereabouts. The structure of our private tour is clearly listed, i.e. a private tour of Tower of London and anything more than that would be at extra costs as informed, and this is standard business practice. Hopefully this is agreeable to you. You were provided with good guiding by a very experienced guide rather than 'walking through..' as alleged. Moreover, you paid for a tour. We are baffled by your displeasure that 'the tour guide was not what you would have expected for that price'.
We have been travelling all over the world. This private tour and service is excellent. Very good value. Highly recommended.

Kevin was on time at our meeting location. He quickly noticed I was somewhat knowledgeable about the location and shared his knowledge accordingly. The significance of the site and the long history of it were discussed in detail. Many stories about the location were either debunked or reinforced. I thoroughly enjoy his presentation of the site and our time together.

I really enjoyed this tour. My tour guide, Kevin, was clearly knowledgeable and provided a detailed and interesting commentary along the tour. I love learning the history behind the sites that I visit and not only was the guide great at providing this but he was also able to answer any specific questions that I had. The tour was well structured and included execution facts, a brief talk and photos with the beefeaters, crown jewels, the king's palaces etc. I also paid extra to go on the river cruise as it was on my bucket list. As a seasoned solo traveller I can safely say that this was one of my favourite private tours that I have been on!

Our guide was late meeting up with us, left us wondering if we were in the right spot. We walked through the various towers, and he couldn't join us in the crown jewels exhibit. But he mostly mumbled through some history - nothing that wasn't shown on the plaques; so we could've easily done without a guide. We saw the tower bridge from afar and took a picture, that was it. Also, no boat tour at all! This was hugely overpriced and unnecessary.
Dear Ms Liu, Sorry you feel that the tour is not what you have assumed. Can I please clarify the following? 1. The tour states expressly that river cruise and Tower Bridge are extra as options at extra costs. Your ticket also states clearly that your tour only includes the entrances to the Tower. It is your choice if going and paying for the options. To put it simply, without you paying for Tower Bridge, we can't take you inside the Bridge. 2.The tour is competitively priced for a private tour, i.e. not a group tour for at least ten people. 3. The guide went to the meeting place on time, a few minutes before 9am. Can you please inform why you felt you may be in the wrong place? 4.Tower of London is a historical heritage site and history is naturally the highlight. Majority want to know the history though this may not be interesting to a few. 5. Professional guides can't join the clients or do any talking inside the Crown Jewels. You can't take any photos inside. These are the official rules we all have to adhere to. The guide explained this to you during the tour. You can raise your serious concerns about these rules with the Tower if you wish. 6. There is little history written on any of the plaques inside the Tower. A guide's job is to show and introduce the highlights to the clients within 3 hours. Many tourists do get into the Tower by themselves, but end up missing some sites, gruesome history and interesting stories. You have enjoyed all the sites on the tour. 7. Your tour is a 3 hour tour, but our professional guide is very experienced. He gave you and your husband an extra hour, i.e. you were given a 4 hour tour at the price of a 3 hour one. I hope you will find the above informative.
