Det hedenske tempel Garni blev bygget i anden halvdel af 1. århundrede af kong Trdat III. Dette er det eneste hedenske tempel, der er bevaret på Armeniens område. Efter vedtagelsen af kristendommen blev det sommerhus for Khosrovadukht, søster til kong Trdat III. Det blev ødelagt i 1679 af et jordskælv. Dele, fragmenter af yndefulde søjler og mursten blev spredt rundt om templet. Det antages, at templet var dedikeret til Mithra, Solens Guds. Tempelet i Garni er medtaget på UNESCOs verdensarvliste.
Charents Arch ligger i nærheden af Jerevan, mellem det hedenske tempel Garni og Geghard Christian klosterkompleks i landsbyen Vokhchaberd. Ved første øjekast synes bauget at være den mest almindelige og unremarkable, men nærmer sig, passerer til platformen inde i buen og ser på panoramaet, bliver alt klart - dette er det bedste sted at beundre det store og hellige bjerg Ararat , at være i enhed med det og nyde den smukke natur.
Geghard Kloster er en af de største middelalderlige arkitektoniske strukturer i Armenien. Geghard er helt udhulet i en hule, det kaldes også et "hule kloster". Dette kloster blev grundlagt i det 4. århundrede e.Kr. i stedet for det hellige forår, der stammer fra hulen. Navnet på klosterkomplekset Geghard (spyd) kommer fra Langin'n spydet, som gennemboret Jesu Kristi legeme på korset. I øjeblikket er dette spyd bevaret i Etchmiadzin-museet. Klosterkomplekset Geghard er medtaget på UNESCOs verdensarvliste.
I provinsen Kotayk, ikke langt fra landsbyen, ligger Garni et af de mest kendte og smukke naturlige monumenter i Armenien - Symphony of Stones. Det siges, at dette naturlige monument er resultatet af sammenbruddet af de vulkanske klipper. Monumentet består af enorme paradoksalt symmetriske hexagon og femkantede basaltkolonner (næsten 50 meter høje). Disse sten, der hænger mod tyngdekraften, ligner et organ, hvilket forklarer, hvorfor det også kaldes "Basaltorgelrør". Floden Azat strømmer gennem kløften, hvorved den stenhindrende skønhed stenes med burble. Fra monumentets område kan du også gå ind i Khosrov Forest State Reserve og opdage et af de specielt beskyttede områder i Armenien.

We booked a 2-person tour for July 11th to Geghard, the Symphony of Stones, and Garni. We had the very good fortune to be assigned Arshak as our guide. He was, without question, the most knowledgeable and generous guide we've ever toured with. He showed us sites we had not even known to ask about, and he went out of his way to ensure we had a wonderful time. We had an amazing experience with Jan Armenia, and a big part of that was because of our guide and driver, Arshak. From day one, he was always before time, cheerful, polite, and incredibly helpful. As pure vegetarians, finding the right food was a challenge because of the language barrier, but he went out of his way to help us choose and order the right food everywhere we went. He even introduced us to local fruits and dishes we would have otherwise missed. What really stood out was how much he genuinely cared about making our trip special. He accompanied us to almost every place, climbed up to monasteries with us, explained the history, architecture, and significance of each place, and shared so many interesting stories about Armenia. He also took us to a few beautiful spots that weren't part of the itinerary but knew our son would absolutely love them. Those little surprises made our trip even more memorable. He also saved us from unnecessary haggling and places where tourists could easily be overcharged. Every stop was thoughtfully planned with clean washrooms, good coffee, and food options which made travelling with family so much easier. By the end of the trip, it genuinely felt like we were travelling with a local friend. His warmth, patience, knowledge, and hospitality made our Armenia trip unforgettable. A big thank you to the entire Jan Armenia team as well. Everything was managed smoothly from start to finish, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We would wholeheartedly recommend Jan Armenia to anyone planning a trip to Armenia.
