Privat udflugt: Fra Strasbourg til Château, Colmar og Riquewihr

This tour was great! Loved Chateau Haut-Koenigsburg, such an incredible medieval castle. Riquewihr was absolutely stunning and probably my favorite stop. And Colmar was amazing. Smail was our driver and did an excellent job! Thank you!

Julie was wonderful and adjusted to the trip to include our kids (10 and 13). Very communicative, friendly, and knowledgeable. One of our favorite days of our trip.

From other reviews, we knew our driver wasn’t a ‘tour guide.’ Smail was on time, a great driver, polite, and told us a little extra during the drive when asked. For the most part, he played the English narration and let that do the information. When we saw how busy the castle was, he did give us prepaid tickets so we could skip the line and pay him back later. The castle was great, Riquewihr was lovely and laidback (go during the week for less people), and the four of us all found Colmar underwhelming and wish we’d had more time at either of the other locations. We also got to Colmar near the end of lunch and when restaurants are finishing lunch service, making it more difficult to find a good place to eat and people watch.

This man was just a driver. We booked this very experience experience thinking that we were booking a day of guidance in 3 Alsace region towns. First of all, he did not speak English. We then realized that he was not a tour guide but just a driver. At that moment, we had 2 options, leaving Alsace without seeing any town or just go for the drive. What a misleading advertisement this was. Shame on this company.

Smail was wonderful! He was so accommodating and kind. I saw the castle and two villages in Alsace. Truly beautiful and lovely day!

Our driver was polite, pleasant, on time, was clear about where to meet, and was always at the meeting point at the designated time. He got us from place to place safely and told us where we were going, how long we would have at each place, what direction to set out, and what time to return. He gave us an option to spend more time at Colmar and skip Eguisheim or less time at Colmar to visit Eguisheim. He texted me a list of restaurant suggestions in Colmar that had vegetarian options. In all that he was wonderful but our communication outside of that was very limited. He did not provide any historical background or information about the sites we visited. This was not an informative tour. If you want a safe and pleasant driver to these locations, then I would highly recommend this tour. If you want to learn anything about the areas you are visiting, then I suggest looking elsewhere. I reread the tour description during the tour to see if I was mistaken in my assumptions, and to be fair it does not say anything about the driver providing commentary. At first the silence was unsettling, then I just accepted that I was mistaken in my assumption that the tour would be informative. As mentioned above, the transportation aspect was flawless and we went place to place smoothly and efficiently.

Smail was a perfect guide. Got us where we needed to be and we enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Definitely worth a day trip.

It was a wonderful full day with Amir as our guide/driver. He shared lots of history and fun insight about the area and was relaxed and easygoing. He saved us from renting a car and having the hassle of parking and navigating various areas with windy roads and tight spaces. So much time was saved and we never would have seen as much if we had been on our own. Amir dropped us to each location and we met him back at the car after a certain amount of time. it was a lovely, stress free day. We highly recommend!
