Private Northern Lights Jagt Expedition

What a wonderful Finnish adventure! We took a private Northern Lights Hunting Tour where we traveled out of town to a beautiful open area, sat in a hut around a fire, roasted sausages, made smores, drank warm blueberry juice, and saw the Northern Lights peek out from the clouds! An amazing night for sure! Our evening was made even better by our amazing guide Mattia! He was so knowledgeable and very personable. He made the trip so special and went out of his way to cater to our needs and make this an adventure we will never forget! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE TOUR AND OUR GUIDE MATTIA!

Despite not having seen the auroras clearly because of the weather, the guide was very friendly throughout, explaining when they would arrive, from where and showing us how to see them from their application! Apart had a cabin with fire to shelter us while we waited, gave us hot tea and sausages!! Very good provider, I recommend.

The Tour was exceptionally good. The Guide Alex was very professional and was patient and gave his best to make sure we enjoy our tour.

Recommend tour!!! The tour guide came to pick us up from the hotel and we went to hunt for the aurora borealis near by the lake. We met the very beautiful aurora borealis dancing on that night. 🤩 However, during the dark it is very hard to took a photo with your mobilephone. เกินความคาดหมายมากสำหรับประสบการณ์ครั้งแรกในการไปตามล่าแสงเหนือ ประทับใจมากโดยเฉพาะ ไกด์ที่พาไปล่าแสงเหนือครั้งนี้ (Mr.Alex) ที่บริการเกินคุ้มค่า ตั้งแต่ขับรถ ก่อกองไฟ บริการเครื่องดื่ม และเล่าประวัติศาสตร์เมือง (แถมข้อมูลแน่นมาก) และที่สำคัญ คุณ Alex เป็น photographer ที่เก่งมาก ถ่ายรูปพวกเรากับแสงเหนือให้ด้วยประมาณหลายสิบรูป ใครไปทริปนี้แนะนำจริงๆสำหรับทัวร์และไกด์ท่านนี้ (ซึ่งปกติเขาบอกว่าไม่ได้มานำทัวร์ดูแสงเหนือเท่าไหร่นะ) One of the best experiences in hunting the aurora. The tour guide (Mr.Alex) is so impressed us and the trip is beyond expectations.

It was the best trip to see the northern lights. Mr. Alex is friendly and knowledgeable about the northern lights and human life. Lapland is very good, making three hours pass quickly. because I talked with the guide all the time I'm not bored at all. The guide knew a good place to see the Northern Lights that evening, where the sky was open, quiet and dark.. allowing us to see many impressive pictures. The guide is also a photographer who takes beautiful photos...if you want good pictures, It is recommended to be prepared with a photographer because the camera is a mobile phone. The photos are not as beautiful as a DSLR camera with a tripod and require lighting as well. The company is very sincere. If on that day there is a low chance of seeing rain or the sky is closed, the company will cancel the trip. So that we won't waste time and money. In conclusion, very impressed.

Alex was amazing, he made plan where and when to go based on weather forecast, solar activity and prepared everything for us. The hike in the middle of the night was exciting too. We did saw a glimpse of aurora upon arrival then weather didn't cooperate. But Alex didn't give up and gave up choice to go chase to another place. After warming up with nice hot juice and snacks that Alex brought we walked back to the hut and sat around the fire. Alex drove far to 2 other places, unfortunately we didn't get the clear sky we wanted but appreciate the effort and anthusiasm. Thank you Alex for the experience

Great experience! Alex was great, very attentive and helpful! He brought us to the best spot after getting foggy where we were. I’d highly recommend!

I booked this experience because of the many positive reviews, I wish I could say the same. First, the tour was very misleading. You don't actually hunt auroras, you drive to a spot near a frozen lake 30 minutes away from the city, then sit and wait for 3 hours until the auroras appear or the clouds disappear, whichever one happens first. Our guide was very thoughtful, but I expected more from the experience rather than a chat. It was a very expensive drive out from the city for a chat and a spot of marshmallows. Second, the tour provider isn't very honest with the likelihood of seeing auroras. I use four different official weather and aurora apps, the same ones they use. It was the start of an extremely cloudy week, but you can't change your tour date without being told to pay for a new one. If they were completely honest, this tour wouldn't be happening every night and they would be warning customers there is zero chance of seeing auroras anytime that night. They kept saying the clouds will clear but I knew for a fact it won't. Plus the KP indices were very low, next to nothing. Even if the clouds cleared up, the chances were still next to nothing, but they don't tell you this. They kept everyone's hopes up. Yes, you can definitely hunt auroras, and yes you can expect/predict them. Third, there is no guarantee you will see auroras, but there is also no guarantee you will receive support if you don't see auroras on the night you go, and you wish to go on another tour again. I received an email assuming that we assumed we would get a freebie. Not sure if it was the lack of basic English politeness due to communication barriers, or they were being sarcastic. I asked for another availability which we would pay for, but I never heard back from them again. I guess they didn't need our business. I therefore booked last minute via our hotel front desk while staying at the Christmas village, and for the same price they took us to a huge cabin, we had a spread of hot foods, hot sausages and breads, 4 different hot and cold drinks to choose from, toilet and changing facilities, free rent of warm clothing and snow equipment, including sledges. We got our money's worth with the second tour that we did. In a way I was happy we didn't go with them a second time, otherwise I wouldn't have known any better. I wouldn't recommend this tour, and sadly I have no positive comments about it.

I would like to thank Alex and Gael for the amazing experience yesterday to see the northern lights. They are very professional and took care of the minimal details to make our experience unforgettable. Since from the first interaction before book the tour, Alex was very helpful and always available to discuss and suggest the best day and tour for my family and friends. He took us to a perfect spot to see the lights, spent so much time taking the best photos (with his own amazing camera), organized a very nice fire with some sausages, cookies, hot chocolate in a wild and beautiful place far away from the crowd. I highly recommend Nordic Adventure. You will not regret !!! Again Alex tks a lot for the amazing night
