Our experience with Josefina was absolutely wonderful. She taught us so much about Caribbean culture and the food while giving us the opportunity to learn so much about each other and the guests that shared the table with us. The food was delicious and the experience Unforgettable. Thank you, Josefina.
Josefina's cooking experience was amazing!!! She started out giving us the history about parts of Costa Rica... then we go into the cooking. the crowd size was just right. not too many people (a total of 6 people) There was plenty of food and well all left stuffed. I would recommend Josefina to anyone tho is on the fence about booking. She made us feel like we were right at home like an aunt was cooking for us. I must add... the admission fee was definitely work all the food we got and the length of time we stayed. Thank you Josefina!!!! :)
Be prepared for a wonderful short history lesson on the area along with some of the best food I have eaten!!! This is the second time I have visited Josephine, and I hope to return next year!!!!
This experience was like no other. It felt like an immersion into life as a Puerto Viejon native. I would definitely recommend to anyone coming to the area. Josephina was very informative and inviting and her cooking was amazing.
Last minute decision to book a cooking class, but so glad we did as it was a genuine highlight of our time in Puerto Viejo. The food was delicious and even better was chatting with Josefina about the history of Puerto Viejo and her own family history. Lovely and informal, we were so grateful to be welcomed into her home and to receive her recipes. Also great that she hosts guests, including solo women travellers, and we would love to stay at her accomodation if we ever go back to Puerto Viejo. We also loved her beautiful cats! Thank you!
Absolutly amazing. Josefine is a welcoming host who opened up her home for us. She not only brought us the very delicious food we cooked but she also explained a lot about the native caribbean culture and history. It was a wonderful evening and I highly recommend to Experience this by yourself
One of our favorite things we did on our CR trip. The food was delicious and we learned so much about the history and culture of Puerto Viejo.
Our evening with Josefina and a congenial group of fellow travelers was both informative and delicious. Our host described the Jamaican experience in a historical context and answered questions throughout. Dinner was so tasty. Coconut milk and an assortment of herbs elevated the flavors of the chicken, rice and beans, plantains, and salad. We enjoyed a refreshing beverage made with ginger, lemon and cane sugar. You will love joining Josephina in her kitchen. Vegetarian option available.
Loved our evening with Josefine. She was informative about the history if puerto viejo and carribbean food whilst also being entertaining. Loved learning to cook chicken rice and beans. Food was excellent. Very enjoyable.
We had such a great experience, an engaging and knowledgeable talk about the history of the Caribbean coast. You’re such an easy person to chat with, and the food was unreal! The chicken was incredibly flavourful and tender. Big fans from all six of us!
