Dette heldagseventyr giver dig mulighed for at nyde både den storslåede panoramaudsigt Salvador tilbyder, samt opdage dens rige historie, ekstraordinære arkitektur og dynamiske kultur, resultatet af blandingen af portugisiske, afrikanske og oprindelige folk. Vi vil se byen fra forskellige vinkler, opdage Lower City, med dens bukoliske indre atmosfære, rundt om det rolige vand i All Saints Bay, og fortsætte til spidsen af Itapagipe-halvøen, den yderste vestlige del af Salvador, og derefter Øvre by med dets historiske centrum – vuggen for vores bys historie.

Rejseplan
Vores rejse starter ved Farol da Barra, hvor vi vil nyde den spektakulære udsigt over Atlanterhavet og indgangen til bugten.
Vi tager derefter til Dique do Tororó, hvor vi vil sætte pris på de berømte skulpturer af Orixás – African Dieties af kunstneren Tati Moreno, som afspejler den afrikanske indflydelse i Bahians hverdag, og vi vil se fodboldstadionet, Arena Fonte Nova.
Mens vi går ned til den nedre by, kører vi gennem Salvadors gamle finanscenter og Salvadors havn mod Ribeira-distriktet.
Vi vil have en chance for at stoppe ved byens mest traditionelle isbutik, Sorveteria da Ribeira, hvor vi vil have en chance for at nyde nogle af de over 70 tilgængelige smagsvarianter, hvoraf mange er lavet med de typiske frugter fra regionen.
Dernæst ankommer vi til Bonfim-kirken, en af de mest berømte kirker i hele Brasilien og en fantastisk repræsentation af den religiøse synkretisme, der er så til stede i vores kultur, hvor vi kan binde de traditionelle farvede bånd og bede alle helgenerne om deres beskyttelse . Bevæget af tro går indbyggerne i Bahia 8 km (5 mi) årligt på den traditionelle Bonfim-festival.
På vejen tager vi til Ponta de Humaitá og gør et stop ved Mont Serrat Fort, hvor vi vil nyde en betagende panoramaudsigt over Salvador.
Vi vil derefter nå toppen af den øvre by, hvor portugiserne byggede Brasiliens første hovedstad, der ligner en akropolis. Fra den kommunale plads vil vi se Rio Branco-paladset, byrådet og den ikoniske Lacerda Elevator, hvorfra vi vil nyde en storslået udsigt over bugten med dens øer, det gamle finansdistrikt og Mercado Modelo, et kunsthåndværksmarked.
VI vil passere gennem Sé-pladsen, hvor den første katedral i Brasilien blev bygget, og vi stadig kan se dens ruiner.
Terreiro de Jesus-pladsen, hjemsted for den tidligere jesuittskole og -kirke, blev oprindeligt bygget. I dag er det den nye Basilica Cathedral. På dette tidspunkt vil vi give fri tid til frokost.
Efter frokost besøger vi en af Brasiliens smukkeste katedraler. Basilika-katedralen i Salvador er moderen til alle brasilianske katolske kirker og rummer en af de vigtigste samlinger af brasiliansk hellig kunst.
Saint Francis Square ligger i hjertet af den gamle bydel, hvor vi finder barer, restauranter og kunsthåndværksbutikker. Men vartegn her er virkelig verdens berømte Saint Francis of Assisi-kirken, en sand barokperle (besøg). Billet er ikke inkluderet.
Dette er en af de smukkeste pladser i Salvador, hvor Jorge Amado Foundation og Church of Rosary of the Black Men er placeret.

Min bil er en sort Toyota Corolla XEI 2023. For større grupper kan jeg arrangere en komfortabel varevogn som transport. Jeg kan hente rejsende på hotellet, i den gamle bydel eller på krydstogtskibsterminalen. For hoteller uden for det ovenfor angivne område opkræver jeg et gebyr for afhentning og aflevering på hotellet.

Carlos led us on a fabulous trip around Salvador introducing us to the history and culture of his amazing city. His winsome enthusiasm for his city was contagious! He was kind and thoughtful with sharing umbrellas on our rainy day. He showed us all the highlights and found the perfect lunch spot for us to enjoy delicious Bahian cuisine! Carlos was an incredible guide! He is so knowledgeable about Salvador and the history, architecture, and culture of the city. The tour is fantastic - we really learned a lot and got to see so many special places and enjoy some incredible food. Carlos speaks perfect English and took care of all of the logistics for our group of 9 people with lots of luggage, and even arranged transportation for us unrelated to the tour. Highly recommend!

Carlos took us on a great tour of Salvador. We booked directly (always our preferred option). Having don’t the previous day blindly wandering around it was so much better to have a structured day with a guide to explain everything to us. You really gain a lot from this. We started in the Barra district (where I am writing this review from on the beach☀️) and during the day traversed both the lower and upper city, we had a great time and Carlos was the perfect guide. He was easy to talk with and clearly very knowledgeable about Salvador. We would recommend the tour to anyone.

We had an amazing tour of Salvador with Carlos, he spoke English very well, we learned so much history of Salvador and Brazil from Carlos. He took us to a fabulous place for lunch. Carlos was wonderful! So knowledgeable. He modified the itinerary based on our interests. We saw so much in 6 hours. When it started to rain he went back to his car and got umbrellas for us. He picked a great place for lunch and got us back to the ship in plenty of time.
