Vores tur vil begynde med et møde i lobbyen på dit hotel eller et udpeget mødested, hvis dit hotel ikke er inden for området. Vi starter vores 6 km gåtur på hovedstien fra Petra besøgende center, passerer gennem Siq til skattekontoret. Dernæst vandrer vi op ad et bjerg for en panoramaudsigt over teatret, efterfulgt af besøg i Royal Tombs, Colonnaded Street og Qasr Al-Bint. Denne del af turen tager typisk omkring 3 timer, afhængigt af dit tempo, med et minimum på 2,5 timer. Bemærk venligst, at klatring til klosteret ikke er inkluderet i denne rejseplan. Vi kan dog diskutere besøget mod slutningen af turen. Hvis du vil besøge klostret, skal du klatre 850 trin. Alternativt kan du vende tilbage til besøgende center via hoved stien, som tager omkring 1 til 1,5 timer. Hvis du foretrækker ikke at gå tilbage til besøgende center, er valgfrie golfvogne tilgængelige fra slutpunktet af vores tur til besøgende center for et gebyr på 25 JOD pr. person.

We had the best experience with Bassil on our first visit to Petra. He made a long day of walking easy and it was clear from the start how much he enjoyed his job and how knowledgeable he was about the area. Absolutely one of our favorite guides of the trip- he got us through some big sites in the first three hours and then gave us his recommendations for the rest of the day. Truly lived up to all our hopes and we can’t stop recommending Petra to be added to everyone’s travel wish list immediately! Given the conflict in the region, we had the site mostly to ourselves. It was amazing for us, but sad to see for the local economy. Everyone should stop questioning it and just book! Amazing experience.

Bassil was such a wonderful guide - friendly and personable. Our conversations were so enlightening, not only about Petra, but Jordan, and the differences between our countries, be it education, homes, energy and more. Highly, highly recommend. As a side note, we travelled during March 2026, and nearly had Petra to ourselves due to reduced tourism due to the conflict in the Middle East - we felt very safe and would encourage others that are considering a visit to go.
We had an excellent experience with our private tour guide Bassil in Petra. Walking through the Siq and seeing the Treasury with his explanations truly brought Petra to life in a way we would have missed on our own. We did this with a 5 year old and 3 year old (my 5 yo had a broken collarbone at the time and was in a sling). We loved it, wonderful experience. Words can’t describe Petra well enough, you have to try it for yourself. But it is amazing, and people are incredible friendly. Thanks to our guide Bassil who was knowledgeable and patient. Try the camels and donkeys if you can too!
