Siden 1998 er gnaoua-festivalen for verdensmusik blevet afholdt årligt i Essaouira. Under din dagstur til denne middelalderby fra det attende århundrede ved havet, der kan prale af dejlige hvidkalkede og blå skodder, søjlegange, thuya-træværksteder, kunstgallerier og lækre skaldyr.
Essaouira er en af en-dags ture. det er tidligere kendt som Mogador, det minder os om dengang, hvor Spanien, Portugal og England kæmpede for at bevare kontrollen over sine kyster. Essaouira ligger på Marokkos vestlige Atlanterhavskyst. Hvor instruktøren og skuespilleren Orson Welles filmede sin film "Othello"

The drive to Essaouira takes 2 1/2 hours and passes through several vegetation zones. With Jamal, our guide, it is a fun ride, he gives valuable tips in English and French, responds to personal requests. With him we got to know an argan cooperation and learned a lot about the typical production of this oil. Jamal cares deeply about the satisfaction of its customers. We can only recommend him. Essaouira town and beach we liked well. Fresher grilled fish, as in the fish market, is probably nowhere, but very rustic Mood.
Superb day trip outside Marrakech. Our Ashraf driver were excellent, competent and very friendly. He was able to answer all our questions and tell us very interesting things about the region and its people. He was also a careful driver. It was a very nice way to spend a day seeing the varied landscapes in different parts of the mountains near Marrakech.

We used Travel plans for a couple of trips, the Atlas mountain trip and a personal tour of Marakech. Both were super value for money and less than half the charge TUI were asking. There were just the 4 of us in an almost new Mercedes Vito people carrier. On both occasions our driver said that he was out personal guide and we could change anything we wanted, stop when we wanted. We had difficulty contacting him on one occasion, so he went and bought a local sim card for us to use....no charge. Ayoub our driver was courteous, helpful, informative and cannot be faulted. Do ask for Ayoub if you get the chance. The office is not the easiest place to find (Next door to the TIU Tikida Garden Hotel) but they also arrange bookings by WhatsApp. We paid half upfront and the balance on completion of the tour so as to make sure we were 100% satisfied. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
