What a wonderful day trip with our guide Hermes. He is very cultured, knows the city, its history, and current events. He makes you feel like you’re out with family. We visted Xochimilco, Frida Khalo museum and Coyoacan. Tried a little bit of everything and learned a lot. Highly recommended!
We had a great experience with Esmre and Carlos. The tour was perfect and we appreciated the history and personalities. We would highly recommend.
I really hate to write a negative review and I told myself I’d just let it go but when we went to lunch and our guide Oscar scrolled Instagram the entire time I decided that was enough. This tour could not have been more boring. He was definitely phoning it in on all fronts. He seems like a lovely person but either it was a bad day or he needs to find a new line of work. I was so excited to see Coyoacan but honestly his lack of enthusiasm was contagious and my kids and I could not wait to get back to our hotel. Also he did not join us in the Frida Kahlo museum and all the other guides I saw were taking their guests through and giving them details. That would have made the entire experience more interesting. I work in a customer service profession and would never scroll my phone with clients. Even my 2 teen boys I was traveling with did not. This was an extremely expensive private tour that I decided to splurge on and regretted almost from the first minute Oscar met us at the car. It was a total bummer. On the plus side our driver was lovely, a safe driver with a clean car.
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I truly appreciate your honesty, and I want to start by saying how sorry I am that your visit to Coyoacán did not meet your expectations. I completely understand how disappointing it can be to look forward to a special experience—especially a private tour—and feel that it fell short. After reviewing your comments carefully and speaking directly with our guide to understand what happened that day, it’s clear that there was a disconnect between expectations and the experience delivered. That said, your feedback regarding professionalism—particularly during lunch—and the overall level of engagement is something we take very seriously. This is not the standard of service we aim to provide at Excellentravel, regardless of circumstances. Regarding the Frida Kahlo Museum, I’d like to clarify that this tour does not include a guided visit inside the museum, as tickets and internal guiding are managed directly by the museum itself. However, I completely agree with you that this should have been explained more clearly at the moment, and that better communication could have helped improve your experience. On a positive note, I’m glad to hear that your driver provided a safe and pleasant service, and I truly appreciate you mentioning that. Your comments have already been shared internally, and we are using this experience as an opportunity to reinforce our service standards with our team to ensure situations like this are handled better in the future. Thank you again for your feedback—it genuinely helps us improve. If you would be open to it, I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly to see how we might make this right.
Excellent day trip to xochimilico canals. A relaxing boat ride along the canals as we visited early in the day. Oscar walked us through the district and explained clearly the history of the area. We had a quick coffee at a lovely local cafe before going to Frida kohle museum. We had pre bought tickets this was useful as it was very busy. Oscar took us for lunch at a local taco restaurant which was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend Oscar his knowledge and spoken English was excellent
Such a great tour!! Great wealth of knowledge about the city, historical significance and locations. A defínete recommend if you are traveling to Mexico City!!
Our Driver Mr. Hermes who was our tour guide also was excellent, after the beautiful boat ride he took us to other several places, he not only was a good and friendly person but he was very knowledgeable too and was telling the history of anywhere he was taking us, he went out of his way to do the best he could do for us, his English also was very good and we will recommend him to anyone who could get him as a tour guide .
Howard was a good guide, very knowledgeable. Ricardo our driver was super thoughtful and considerate. He came over with an umbrella when it was sunny and surprised us with our favorite soda! Definitely request Ricardo as your driver!
Howard was an incredible tour guide! He was patient, kind, and so informative. He loves history and culture! We highly recommend a tour with Howard!
The tour got off to a lightly rocky start when the driver went to the wrong pickup location. However, we rebounded and were picked up 10 minutes later. Xochilmilco was wonderful - it is nice that this tour makes it your first stop, so you can really see the canals without being in gridlock with the rest of the boats. From there, we went straight to coyocan, skipping San Angel because of traffic. While we agreed with Monica (our guides) recommendation, we did specifically book this tour because it included San Angel. Casa Azul was marvelous. Overall, both Monica and our driver (did not catch his name) were kind, friendly and helpful, but we would have preferred more information or guidance about what we were seeing, the history, and why it was important. We just kind of went along with only friendly conversation - not any of the info you would expect a tour guide to provide.
Thank you very much Octavio for taking us to the most beautiful places and being our guide. We had a great time! Also for being our security guard to all the places we pass! We feel very safe. 100% recommended this tour!
