Stutthofs koncentrationslejr var det første og længste koncentrationslejr i Polen. Det blev etableret for at udrydde jødisk og polsk efterretning, hovedsageligt fra Pomerania og den frie by Gdask. Bygget i 1939 og oprindeligt beregnet til omkring 3.000 mennesker, blev denne lejr gradvist stedet for tortur og slagtning for over 110 tusinde fanger fra 26 lande, hvoraf de fleste blev tortureret, tvunget til at arbejde eller døde i gaskamre. Stutthof koncentrationslejr er i øjeblikket åben for besøgende. Da udstillingen er ret drastisk, kan den kun besøges af personer, der er 13 år eller derover. Turen varer 5 timer, og tilbuddet omfatter adgangsbilletten til museet samt guidet udforskning af det tidligere Stutthof-område – de gamle og nye lejrkvarterer, hovedkommandørens villa, gaskamre, krematorium og monumentet til dets ofre. Derudover er det også muligt at se en film om lejren.

This was a great trip with a guide with deep knowledge and a very good and accurate way of telling the stories abaut Stutthof from the start to the end. Mike (our Guide) told the whole story, the awful handling of the people, how the camp was runned, and the strategies for survival was for the people in Stutthof. It is highly rekommended to do this tour for adults and teens.

It was a very interesting and profound experience tour which me and my family fully recommend to do. The tour was very well-organized and professional. The driver arrived on time, was friendly and was giving us many interesting information about the region during the ride to our destination. If you are interested in history or just a really humbling experience, this concentration camp will open your eyes to struggles of the people that was imprisoned here. If you coming in the winter months make sure you dress warm. The cold adds to the experience. If you are in the Gdansk area this is a must see. Having a guided tour definitely helps to get a full concrete experience. Your tour guide was on time to pick us up and shared so much about the local area as well. The beach is close and the shops have some great homemade ice cream. Hope you all enjoy as much as our family did.
