Og vi afslutter dagen på vinfabrikken Areni, hvor du får mulighed for at smage armenske vine

Navnet på Khor Virap kloster er oversat som "dybt fangehul". Den første katolikker af alle armeniere Saint Gregory the Illuminator blev fængslet her i 13 år efter ordre fra den armenske hedenske konge Tiridates III for den forkyndende kristendom. Da kongen blev ramt af en sygdom, så hans søster en drøm: en engel fortalte hende, at Tiridates først ville blive frelst efter befrielsen af Gregory Illuminator. Således løslod kongen Gregor Illuminator, og sidstnævnte helbredte kongen. Efter kuren udråbte kongen kristendommen som statsreligion. Khor Virap har en vigtig historisk betydning for Armenien. I dag har turister mulighed for at gå ned i det underjordiske fangehul, som er placeret inde i St. Gregory the Illuminator-kapellet. Den bedste udsigt over det hellige bjerg Ararat åbner sig fra klosterets område.
Noravank-klosteret ligger i Vayots Dzor-provinsen, 3 km nordøst for landsbyen Amaghu. Klosterets navn er oversat til "nyt kloster". Noravank blev bygget i det 13-14. århundrede. Klosterkomplekset ligger på en stejl bjergafsats, nær klippen. Området er "indrammet" af usædvanlige klipper med lys rød farve, som skaber en meget malerisk baggrund for bygningerne. Noravank var et vigtigt kulturelt og åndeligt centrum i middelalderen; det tjente også som residens for biskopperne i Syunik-provinsen. Noravank kloster er en af de mest besøgte attraktioner i Armenien. Komplekset er en storslået arkitektonisk og kunstnerisk skabelse. Klostret blev fuldstændig restaureret.

Folk, der sætter pris på gode vine og er interesseret i historien om gammel arkitektur, vil helt sikkert blive forelsket i den lille armenske Areni-landsby. Festivalen "Areni Wine" har været arrangeret her hvert efterår siden 2009; over 100 typer af fineste armenske vine præsenteres på festivalen, og besøgende kan smage og købe unge og gamle vine fremstillet på vingården Areni.

Another unforgettable excursion thanks to a one way tour. Seeing Mount Ararat up close must have been impressive. Visits to Khorvirap and Noravank churches each telling a rich and ancient story. Thanks to Lusine’s explanations, I was able to better understand the cultural and religious importance of these places. After this part of the day, leaving for Jermuq was another wonderful moment. The natural beauty of Jermuq Unbelievable. Many thanks also to Ando our driver, for his exemplary driving throughout the excursion.

Went on the tour with Hasmik Karapetyan as our guide and Norik as the driver. Took my university friends from Germany and can't recommend the tour enough. Hasmik is very friendly and has really good English, knowledge, and passion about everything. Witty jokes make the whole trip more memorable!

we went to a little trip to Areni and everything was great!! The tour guides were very polite and helpful, especially Tigranuhi who told us everything about the churches and the mythology about them! I took part to a tour with the One Way agency on november 2023. We visited Khor Virap, Noravank, Jermuk and a wine producer in Areni. All the schedules were realized on time and the guide, Nina, could be very helpful and give interesting insights on the attractions, both in Englissh and in Russian. The experience, then, has been generally positive. I just think that the tour could preview a visit to some wineyards instead of proposing only a factory were the wine is produced: this, especially on summer-autumun, would make it just perfect!

We had a bilingual (English-Russian) trip with an excellent tour guide, Gayane. The trip was well scheduled, leaving enough time at each stop, including also a lunch break. Gayane was giving a lot of interesting information about all the places we visited, making the tour informative and enjoyable. Entrance fee has to be paid only at the cave but it's worth the short visit there. The only thing that shadowed a little bit the tour that on the way back our bus has broken down before reaching the final stop, thus we had to take the metro, and the air conditioner was scarcely working on the way. Instead, Armenian music was accompanying us during the travel on the bus, it was quite loud for me.
We love to know that this tour was educational and interesting. We always try to do our best to give you positive memories. We are waiting on your return, because there are still many places to discover together. Thank you very much for giving us your trust, it is something invaluable for us.
it was in english, bus with air-conditioning (sometimes not working). Driver good (but keep in mind armenian traffic is terrible). pay attention for change at coffee shop and seller I get soured milk . If they see you are a foreigner they are saying a higher price. Guide (Gayane) was very nice with a lot of information and correct time limits. Lunch was at a good big place. there are water(fountain) at stops, sometimes just for this reason (but worth asking for it). 1500 for birds cave worth út, but dont expect a long journey. lot of steps ín general. A good trip for introducing you Armenia out of Yerevan.
