the experience we received was materially different from what was advertised and included in our booking. We booked this experience for a group of 10, including three children. The listing advertised an approximately three-hour private golf cart tour with an extensive Rome itinerary and a tasting stop featuring authentic Roman specialties, specifically including pizza, homemade ice cream, and other local delicacies. Unfortunately, there were significant problems before the tour even began. I had entered our hotel as our pickup location, and it was accepted during the booking process; however, the pickup location later displayed differently. Because of this discrepancy, I attempted to contact the tour company repeatedly for approximately a week before the excursion and received no response. I ultimately contacted Viator directly and was told that the pickup arrangement would be okay. On the day of the tour, the driver contacted me approximately four hours beforehand. I immediately explained that our group needed to be picked up from the hotels previously discussed. I received no response until approximately 30 minutes before the tour, when I was suddenly told that we needed to be at a different pickup location. As visitors unfamiliar with Rome, there was no reasonable way for our group of 10 to relocate to an unfamiliar meeting point with only 30 minutes’ notice. The company eventually agreed to meet us at our hotel. We were told it would take approximately 15 minutes for them to arrive, but it took closer to 45 minutes. I agreed that the delay could be deducted from our tour time because, at that point, we simply wanted to make the best of the experience. Once the tour began, I specifically told the guides that our priorities were the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and, if possible, St. Peter’s Basilica. We visited the Spanish Steps and then drove rapidly across Rome toward the Colosseum for sunset. During the drive, we passed many of the locations included in the advertised itinerary. I did not realize at the time that we were effectively skipping those stops rather than returning to them. At the Colosseum, we were apparently supposed to have the advertised food experience. However, the restaurant was closed. Instead of the included tasting of Roman specialties—including pizza and homemade ice cream—we were given beer. This was not an equivalent substitute, particularly because our party included three children who were hungry and had been expecting the advertised pizza and food tasting. After the Spanish Steps and Colosseum, the guides then wanted to end the tour. This meant that most of the advertised itinerary was never actually provided. Among the prominently advertised locations were Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and St. Peter’s Basilica. Trevi Fountain was specifically one of the locations I had told the guides was a priority, yet we did not visit it. My complaint is therefore not simply that the tour was shorter because of a pickup delay. I agreed to the reasonable deduction of that delay from our tour time. The problem is that the remaining experience itself did not reasonably resemble the excursion we purchased. We received essentially two sightseeing stops, while numerous advertised itinerary stops were skipped. The included Roman food tasting was also not provided, and beer was offered in its place despite three children being part of our group. Additionally, communication from the operator before the excursion was extremely poor. I made repeated attempts to resolve the pickup issue in advance specifically to prevent this situation, but received no response. I also contacted Viator before the tour and was advised that the pickup arrangement would be okay. Had the excursion been accurately described as a shortened drive through Rome with approximately two sightseeing stops and beer instead of the advertised Roman food tasting, I would not have booked this experience for our group. For these reasons, I am requesting a refund based on the substantial difference between the excursion advertised and the services actually provided. I have screenshots documenting the advertised itinerary, the approximately three-hour duration, and the included tasting described as authentic Roman specialties including homemade ice cream, pizza, and other typical delicacies. I can also provide the communication showing my attempts to resolve the pickup issue before the excursion. Please review the booking, advertised inclusions, and communications with the operator

Our guide Karim was amazing… knew his Rome history extremely well and was flexible to change around the tour if we wanted to see something in particular, he was also a very good driver

It started to storm before our tour and should have been canceled before we went. It dumped down rain on us and really didn’t get to experience anything that was supposed to be on the tour. Very disappointed in the overall experience.

Excellent driver would highly recommend him to anyone . Very knowledgeable friendly and made sure we go a taxi ride home

I would not recommend this tour. The original tour was supposed to start at 2:30 and they contacted me a couple of hours prior to see if they could move it to 3:00 due to our tour guide having a family outing that was going to run longer than expected. We accomodated the new time. The driver shows up and couldnt speak any English which by the picture I am posting you can see we specified "English". I do not believe this was the original tour guide we were supposed to have. One of many reasons is that he never tried to tell us anything about any of our stops and when we asked questions he couldnt answer them. He just stopped at one of our stops and pointed to where we were supposed to go, we had no clue what some of the places were....that is what we were depending on our tour guide to tell us. The last stop he took us to was to a pizza restaurant. Our tour was supposed to consist of "authentic Roman specialties, including homemade ice cream, pizza and other delicacies, to experience a real moment of local flavors". We got off the golf cart and was told to go the counter and order a slice of pizza. I asked what were we going to do once we did that and he pointed to the golf cart and told us we could eat on the golf cart! Can you imagine riding down the bumpy roads of Rome on a golf cart and having to try and eat a slice of pizza. There were 6 of us in our group and we all turned around and told him to take us back to our hotel because we were NOT going to do that. He called his "boss" and the boss told him to find us a place to sit in the restaurant to eat, which he did. We left there and he took us back to the hotel.....never did get our ice cream or other authentic Roman specialties whatever that may have consisted of. I feel we should be refunded our money that we paid because it certainly what was advertised. In America we call that "False Advertisement". I am attaching a picture of our ticket and with what it was supposed to include. Do NOT waste money on this tour.

Fantastic trip around all the major sites in Rome x Antoni was our guide who was fantastic, knowledgeable and ensured we were all comfy at all times. We were travelling with our parents who were in their 80s so this was a good way to get them around a Rome to see the sites. Highly recommend.

From the moment we met up with Alessio, we knew that we were going to have an amazing experience. He took us to so many places and explained to us why these places were so important. At every stop we were allowed to get out of the golf cart and take pictures. I happened to ask him about the Church of Sant’Ignazio di Loyola (The church with the flat painted ceiling that actually looks like a dome and a breathtaking ceiling fresco.) This was an unplanned stop, and we were thrilled that Alessio was happy to show us. He even took us to a spot that on our own we would never have even known about. He took us to a gelato spot and personally spoke to the workers about our daughter’s allergy. So happy we booked this tour. We saw some amazing places and learned so much about Rome in the process. Viator is a horrible company. They work with third party tour companies and don’t check references. Our trip was ruined when the third party tour company never scheduled our tour despite Viator sending a confirmation email

We had an an amazing Golf cart Tour with Marco .Marco listened to what we wanted to do and took note of what we had already seen and tailored the tour to suit our interests and needs. It was a beautiful evening although the weather was still warm the cart was cool with a breeze throughout the trip. Marco was very knowledgeable and could answer any questions and provided interesting information. The food was great we were able to try different foods of our choosing and cold drinks were plentiful.

Fun golf cart tour. It was just the 4 of us from our group on the golf cart, so we could go at our own pace. Our driver was knowledgeable and very accommodating to us wanting to make longer stops. We didn’t get to see as much as the tour offers, but that was because we wanted to stop longer. The biggest downfall was the “culinary” part. There wasn’t any food until the very end of the tour. And then all it was was gelato. Overall it was a fun time. But just don’t expect to be trying Italian foods along the way like the listing implied.
