We had a wonderful and informative tour with Silvia! We will really enjoyed the history of both the food and roman history. I especially appreciated her care for those with dietary challenges. It was a wonderful way to start our vacation - thank you again, Silvia!
A fantastic way to explore, learn & eat with your new Roman ‘best friend’ for a few hours. The shops, eateries & hidden gems I would not have found on my own. Silvia was an absolute sweetheart! She knows her city, its history & great places to sample the Under the radar Jewish Roman cuisine. A fantastic way to learn of Rome’s hidden gems.
My charming guide Orso made the tour an exciting experience even in the rain. It was an interesting mix of culinary delights, Roman history and unique art. I take many new impressions with me and will gladly come back.
What a great tour. Thanks to Sylvia my guide who made it interesting and a wonderful combination of history and food stops. I was looking forward to the fried artichoke and it didn’t disappoint. Would highly recommend this tour for someone is interested in the history of this area and Jewish food. Casual walking experience.
Very informative and great food tastings. Tour guide was exceptional and pace was good. Managed through a very busy day without stress. Maybe a meeting place that is at the bookstore could be more recognizable.
The Private Jewish Ghetto Walk and The Influence in Roman Cuisine was a deeply enriching experience. We learned about the history and tasted traditional dishes that were simply exquisite. A must for history and food lovers!
Very unhappy! My wife and I were unable to find the tour guide after walking for almost one hour. The guide did attempt to call but unable to understand. My wife, who is Type I diabetic, began to experience serious, health-concerning low blood sugar levels. At this point, along with the time being after 5pm, I felt it best to not risk my wife’s health in order to meet-up with the group. I finally messaged the tour guide & told her to move on with the tour & “have a good night.” Not only am I disappointed with not attending the tour along with my wife feeling lousy for several hours afterwards, I am more disappointed with VIATOR NOT ISSUING ME A FULL REFUND. Viator seems more concerned about making a buck then being understanding that sometimes things happen beyond your control; especially related to someone’s health! GRADE = FAIL
This is Silvia, the one who supposed to lead your tour: First of all I hope your wife is well, I'm Silvia, we spoke on the phone that day. I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed, I did my best trying to find you, but when we spoke on the phone you didn't know where you were and you were not even able to tell me what you could see around you. The indication of the meeting point are pretty clear and nowadays with the help of our smartphone is hard to get lost! Hard but not impossible, so since you said you were lost I asked you to send me you location, so I could find you. You never send it to me, I sent you mine and asked your location again, then I tried to call you another time, but you didn't answer. You never mention your wife been sick, otherwise I would helped you. We are sorry that you didn't have you money back, but there are cancellations policy: you can't just don't show up without a reason. I would like to add, it's not fair for me and for my job to rate the tour one star when you didn't attend it, I understand you are angry, but I'm not your target. I hope you had a good time in Rome and I wish all the best to you and especially to your wife.
We loved it! The experience was truly very complete, the guide gave us a lot of information about the neighborhood that we didn't imagine. It has a great history. The food, as it cannot be otherwise in Rome: one thing better than the other. The dish with artichokes (typical of Hebrew cuisine) is very good. And a separate paragraph for desserts with ricotta. Amazing. To recommend, without a doubt.
Absolutely loved the tour! Our guide skillfully weaved together history, culture, and tasty bites, from the best Roman Pizza Rossa to unique specialties. Huge thanks to our guide for making this experience truly unforgettable!
We had a wonderful experience in Rome with Walkin Gourmet. It was our first time in the city, and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed everything - from food to rich culture, history, nature, and accommodation. All the places chosen by our private guide in the jewish ghetto were mesmerizing.
