Sebastian was amazing. He drove us around, took us to castles and even made extra stops for us to see extra local heritage and shops. He listened to our conversations and came up with other places he thought we would want to see. He knew all the special places. It was great to get a real locals experience. We could not have had a better tour.
Latvia was our family summer vacation .. We always use Viator for our day trip.. In this case, we requested a private day tour. We were picked up sharp on time in our hotel . The mini van was clean and in perfect condition. Our guide, Norman , was very professional , perfect English speaking.. He kept us informed about Latvian culture, and the characteristics of our destination (three castles in the proximity to Riga.) . It was a wonderful experience.. We were recommended this tour guide for a trip to Bauska Castle and Rundale Palace through The Grand Poet Hotel. Normunds Heincis was our guide for the day and he was outstanding. Normunds did explain that he could not take us around Rundal Palace as the Palace only allow Official Rundaale Palace guides to take you around the interior but he did tell us a lot about the palace. He is an excellent english speaking guide who has a good knowledge of Latvian History as well as Bauska Castle and Rundale Palace. From the moment he picked us up at the hotel he put us at ease and in control of what we wanted to do for the day. This is the first time that we have hired a private guide for a day and we were pleased we did. I would highly recommend Normunds who is knoweldgeable, courteous and has a good sense of humour. We finished the day trip having learned a lot about Latvian history and culture which made our holiday that much more rewarding.

An excellent day overall. Our driver messaged me yesterday to introduce himself and arrived promptly at 10.00. Rundale Palace was stunning. Lunch in a Tavern in Bauska was delicious and Bauska Castle was good.

BOOK NOW! First off the best tour operator I have ever come across and I seriously recommend you book a tour with them. When I was booking a tour I wanted to book an independent operator and somebody who would be passionate and knowledgeable about Latvia. I couldn't have asked for a better guide than Normund. He has 2 degrees and a master's, so he isn't a taxi driver with just a bit of knowledge. Normund arrived on time to pick us up and was happy to move the pick up location to the cafe where we were finishing breakfast. He joined us for a coffee and we discussed our day. We prearranged to add the hill of crosses to the tour as well. From the moment we left where we were staying Normund was talking passionately about the history of the city, the people and carried on through out the day. He always checked in with us to see if we needed a stop for a break or anything else along the way. As we drove we discussed a wide variety of subjects from economy, politics, quality of life and of course the history. We could not be happier with Normund and would definatley book him again.
