Joseph was an excellent tour guide and we actually got more time than we should have. He took us to some stunning locations and picture spots were we had some lovely pictures of the family. Outstanding and great value for money tour.
This tour was declined by the operators. I don’t understand why you are asking for a review of a tour that we did not do. Otherwise TripAdvisor is a good option for booking tours.
We booked Ricardo for a half day tour of Madeira, but it covered areas we had planned into another day of self driving, so I asked if we could extend the day and do the west coast tour instead. This was no problem at all. Ricardo arrived promptly at our door and helped our disabled person into his vehicle before loading the wheelchair into the back. He then explained where we would be going and headed off onto all the wonderful points of interest. Ricardo parked as close as possible at every point and let us take as much time as we wanted due to the extra time we needed with the wheelchair. All the knowledge that he shared throughout the day was very valuable and we would have missed so much had we done this on our own. The restaurant we stopped at for lunch right by the natural pools of Porto Moniz offered a good range of food and a wonderful view (excellent suggestion from Ricardo). Ricardo provided a service that we felt was above and beyond that of a taxi/tour driver. I would definitely recommend this trip.
What a great day. Thank you so much Ricardo. We had an amazing time with Joseph… he was so friendly and helpful. And so patient, having to wait for us when we queued for the toboggans. We never felt rushed, and we truly felt we received the best service. We will recommend you to anyone coming to Madeira 😊

We just got back to our hotel after a wonderful day with our driver/tour guide, Ricardo. Do not hesitate to give him a call. He was the absolute BEST!!! He made stops at the most beautiful locations so we could take pictures. He is so knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure to talk to. We can’t wait to come back to Madeira to see him. We booked the full day tour ok the west side of the island and Ricardo was prompt to pick us up from our hotel. The weather was great and we were excited. Ricardo went through where we would be travelling and it was great! We got going and the journey began. The package that we had was for up to 4 people and there were only two of us… but we wanted a more personalised tour and didn’t want to be on a large coach with lots of people. It was also so hot, we preferred the wind flowing the cabin as we drove around. We saw so many sites, and Ricardo gave us time to do what we wanted, never rushed us, it was so much fun. We saw some tours with large coaches and we are so glad we went with a smaller guide, we could do what we wanted and if we wanted to spend more time in one place than another, Ricardo gave us this freedom. We did the East side of the island with his brother Diogo in February and he was great too. Ricardo was really informative on the island, it’s history and was always smiling. Felt like being with a friend. I would absolutely recommend Ricardo’s services! Great guy offering a great service!
Ricardo was our guide for two days...we did the west side tour and also half day trip to Ponta de Sao Lourenço. The car was comfortable, good price and value for money. We got to see a lot and Ricardo was super helpful and informative. We had a great time and would definitely recommend hiring Ricardo for private taxi.
Very nice people and well English spiking. We did 4 trips with two Mercedes Vito Van for 16 people. Recommend a lot to everyone!!!
