Når vi kommer til Prizren, er den første attraktion at besøge Prizren-fæstningen. Også kendt som "Kronen af Prizren", og det har også været området for nogle af de gamle bygder i den gamle by. Det tilbyder en fantastisk, malerisk udsigt over byen, hvor adskillige moskeer og minareter er smeltet sammen med kirker, huse og tyrkiske bade.
Gå i Prizren. Beliggende i hjertet af byen er det den største og mest besøgte moske i byen. Stadig funktionel, selv i dag, denne moske vil forbløffe dig med den elegante indretning og unikke firkantede form af hovedbygningen. Byg i begyndelsen af 1700-tallet denne moske er blevet restaureret og fanatisk bevaret som en af de største religiøse og kulturelle værdier i byen.
Ligeledes betragtet som et af de vigtigste møder mellem albanske patrioter i det 19. århundrede var Prizren League en politisk og patriotisk bevægelse, der ønskede at redde de albanske lande fra at blive delt mellem Balkanlandene. Besøg i huset til League og The Ethnographic Museum. Det er et interessant panorama af det traditionelle lokale liv i det traditionelle Kosovo.
Denne kirke fra det 14. århundrede er lukket til renovering og er unik i sin stil og værdier. Beskyttet nu af UNESCO blev det stærkt beskadiget i 2004. Bygge af den samme hersker som klosteret Gracanica, også en del af Unesco.
Turen starter kl. 8:00, hvor vi, efter at hotellet er hentet, tager mod Morinas grænse. Undervejs vil du være i stand til at se forskellene i landdistrikterne i Albanien. Stadig levende er fodsporene fra det kommunistiske regime og de tidligere industribyer bygget i denne periode.

We had a brilliant guide in Endri who gave us an insight into both the historical sights (the Albania League of Prizen was particularly amazing) and day to day life in Albania before and after communism. It was great having the private tour as this gave us so much flexibility. Highly recommended.
Endri was a phenomenal tour guide - he knew all about the history of Albania and Kosovo and was so kind. He really made the day spectacular for us and I couldn’t recommend the tour more to people.
More fun than I expected since Prizren was having a car show on a nice Sunday that packed the place with families with a lot going on. I enjoyed it a lot and our guide took us to a great place to buy lunch. The ride over and back was just long enough to make it feel adventurous without overly long delays at the border crossings. Plus Engjell is a knowledgeable and personable guide who shared a lot of background information that was quite interesting. I highly recommend this mini-adventure to Kosovo. Well worth the time and money.

Xhulio was an amazing tour guide and we learned so much about the history of Kosovo and Albania. Our trip got off to a rocky start as we got a flat tire but our guide found a mechanic nearby and it was patched up and fixed within an hour! Would highly recommend this tour!
Drive through the valleys and mountains of Albania was excellent. Xulio the guide was passionate and knowledgeable about his country and history, and even played some Balkan pop music for me on the way home which was lovely. Prizren - great to see the comparisons of mosques and churches, eat the local cuisine and explore the Kosovo/Albanian history in the museum. Very worthwhile trip. The view from the hilltop fort was excellent also.

We traveled to Prizren on a day trip with Go As Local and had a great time. Andi was great to communicate with to arrange the tour, and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the region so we not only got to experience a new country but learned a great deal from an expert as well - he was so passionate and full of pride about Albania and its people! The drive through the mountains was beautiful, we saw the highlights of Prizren during the afternoon - the main church, mosque, castle, old town centre, and delicious lunch at a traditional Kosovar restaurant. Would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone in Tirana who wants to get a taste of Kosovo.
