Og selvom Charyn canyon er mindre i størrelse til Grand Canyon, men ikke ringere med sin skønhed og storhed - kommer fans af vandreture og dyreliv fra hele verden her. Charyn Canyon ligger 200 kilometer væk fra Almaty, nær grænsen til Kina, på Charyn National Natural Parks territorium. Canyonen strækker sig 154 kilometer langs Charyn-floden og er dannet af sedimentære klipper, der er 12 millioner år gamle.

Charyn Canyon strækker sig 154 km langs Charyn floden (en af de dybeste floder i de nordlige Tien Shan bjerge). Vind, vand og sand skulpterede Charyns røde sandsten til at danne dens former og nuancer. Nogle af klipperne ligner bestemte figurer, hvilket er grunden til, at nogle dele af canyonen også kaldes "Dalen af slotte", Heksehulen og Ghosts Gorge. Rute 09: 00 – Afrejse Almaty (3.5 timers kørsel, ~200 km). 12:30 - Ankomst til Charyn Canyon, gå langs slottets dal til floden. 13:30 – Frokost ved floden. 14:30 – Fritid: udforske, billeder, valgfrie korte vandreture. 16:00: Tilbage til parkeringspladsen. 16:30: Afrejse til Almaty. 20: 00–20: 30 – Ankomst til Almaty.

We had 4 day private tour which included a trip to charyon canyon as well as kolsai lake.. from the day we landed from uae to Almaty..ilyas our guide has been fabulous...he was punctual , courteous ,knowledgeable and was great ambassador of his country..Skyway must be proud of having an employee like him...and he must be rewarded for the same... Lastly. I will always recommend people to visit Almaty as it was an out of the world.. experience ..thanks mainly to Ilyas..
Visiting Charyn Canyon with friends was an unforgettable experience! The views are absolutely breathtaking like a mini Grand Canyon in Kazakhstan. With our best tour guide, Adil, we had a great time exploring, hiking, and taking photos. He made the trip even more enjoyable with his knowledge and friendliness. Highly recommend visiting Charyn Canyon, and if you can, go with Adil he’ll make the adventure even better!
First n foremost our Driver cum guide was the best person.His name was Miras.Very courteous n .helpful.His English was fluent n he showed us all the places.Scenery n weather was good.Will recommend a visit to Almaty to all.
I had an amazing time during the trip. Our Kazakhstan was amazing, the tour was well arranged and the tour guide Nazerke was so great and helpful, she also gave us a lot of information about the places we visited and about the country. We went to Shumbulak ski resort ,Charyn Canyon, Kolsay lake and the alma arslan gorge the tour was amazing! Our driver Sergie was also nice
