Den berømte Marian Sanctuary of Fatima er uden tvivl et af de største pilgrimsrejsecentre i verden. Millioner af mennesker kommer her årligt for at hylde de tre hyrdebørn, der var vidne til jomfru Maria's tilsynekomster i felterne i “Cova da Iria”. Fri tid til at deltage i messen (valgfrit), kan du besøge Kapel af Apparitions, hvor du kan se statuen af Our Lady of Fatima. Vi besøger også basilikaen, hvor vi kan finde gravene til Lucia, Jacinta og Francisco (de to sidste blev kanoniseret af pave Francis i maj 2017 og blev således de yngste hellige i den katolske kirke). Når vi fortsætter, besøger vi den moderne kirke af den velsignede treenighed i Fatima, der har plads til 8.633 mennesker og har et areal på 40.000 m2. Kirken blev designet og projiceret af den græske arkitekt, Alexandros Tombazis. Du kan shoppe for religiøse ting til dig, din familie og venner.
Klosteret i Batalha blev beordret til at blive bygget af kong João I for at fejre den portugisiske sejr for det berømte slag ved Aljubarrota i 1385. Dette monument fra UNESCOs verdensarv er et af de bedste eksempler på europæisk gotisk arkitektur i sine sidste faser. Det indre huser kirken "Santa Maria da Vitória", den højeste i Portugal med en forbløffende 32,5 meter højde. Dette kloster, symbol på Portugals nationale stolthed er uden tvivl en af de smukkeste modeller af portugisisk middelalderarkitektur.
I det sidste århundrede blev den gamle fiskerlandsby Nazare en af de mest efterspurgte badebyer af portugisiske turister til at tilbringe deres sommer. De vidunderlige hvide sandstrande i enorm længde betager alle dem der kommer igennem, hvad enten de skal nyde en weekend eller blot for at have et fantastisk lækkert måltid ved havet. Men Nazare blev kendt over hele verden på grund af dens gigantiske bølger i “Praia Norte”. Verdensrekorden blev erobret her for at surfe på en kæmpe 29-meters bølge af Garret McNamara, en amerikaner fra staten Hawaii. Stop for fotografering.
Byen Obidos er en gammel romersk by, der fortsatte med at blomstre, selv efter imperiets fald på grund af den enorme kommercielle aktivitet af produkter, der udføres ved havet. I middelalderen blev der opført en mur omkring den efter at have erobret af den første konge af Portugal, Afonso I. Obidos er det bedste eksempel på en middelalderby i Portugal. Når vi går gennem denne bymur, går vi tilbage i tiden og finder smalle brostensbelagte gyder, huse med sekulære facader malet i hvidt, et livligt shoppingområde og et antal kirker, der blev bygget gennem århundrederne. Her kan vi forestille os at rejse tilbage til tiden for konger og dronninger. Vi får en fornemmelse af de slag, der udkæmpes her for hvert stykke jord. Vi forlader ikke uden at smage den berømte “Ginga de Obidos”, en lokal sød spiritus serveret på en lille chokoladekop.

Just because you pay more for a private tour doesn’t always mean you will have your tour guide with you at each stop. We had hoped for a guide. Someone to show us around the place and explain history., It was disappointing that our guide only spoke to us during the drive and we had to explore on our own each stop. This led to waisted time and lack of information. We could have just taken a cheaper tour or rented a car. Tour guide was very nice and safe driver but we craved the entire guide experience the “private” tour are known for.

This private tour was designed to combine expert guidance with personal exploration at each location. Rodrigo ensured your safety, comfort, and enjoyment throughout the day. Jorgé met us at our hotel and we went to Fatima! His English was perfect! He was informative along the way and explained the different sites within the grounds of the basilica. He gave us plenty of time to see and do what we needed to experience all of Fatima, in spite of very limited parking since the next day was October 13th. From there we went to Batalho and he gave us so much specific and coordinated information about the history of the church and the times leading up to it! He explained that it is the tallest church in Europe and royalty has been married there for centuries. From there we went to Nazarene to view the ocean and learn of the incredible waves that come in February/March. We went into the beautiful church and learned about the origin of the other small chapel in honor of Mary who saved the nobleman. Finally we went to Obidos and we had ample time to wander, shop and try Ginja in a chocolate cup! One of my favorite tours!! Thanks Jorgé! Highly recommended!
Whenever I have a chance to step out of the office and work in the field I realize why I found this company 29 years ago. This was by far the best tour company and guide (Jorge) we've ever worked with. They were so responsive on our questions prior to booking this day trip. The guide, Jorge, was knowledgeable on the area/history and could answer any question we had. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about Portugal and Fatima-Nazare-Batalha-Obidos. Jorge, who we booked a private day tour was not only a gracious guide but a proud ambassador to his country. I was reluctant to book a tour with a company I have never heard of but from the time I had made the initial contact through email, Jorge was honest, prompt and responded very efficiently to all my questions and concerns. The tour was for 7 of us and he gave more than enough time to leisurely explore each sites. Aside from his knowledge and history of the different places, I also appreciated his reminders regarding VAT during our stop at Fatima. His Mercedes van was comfortable and from the time we started at 9 in the morning to about 6pm, his demeanor remained even killed and kind despite the fact that he was driving for the last 9 hours! Thank you Jorge for making our tour memorable... hopefully we’ll be back to visit Portugal again!

We made two tours with the Première Tours one of them leaving from Lisbon a private tour for me and my sister, the punctual and efficient guide Sandra excellent driver took us to Fatima, Battle, Nazaré and Óbidos a lovely day! Leaving Porto we went to Santiago de Compostela in Spain, where we met the ancient city, Cripta Cathedral, a magical city. Our guides Mr. Carlos amable punctual with great historical knowledge. On the way we still pass by Valencia adorable small medieval Portuguese town We recommend this agency and all its Tours, hugs to our guides and to Mr Jorge Brás who organized all our tours
