Denne tur er for roadtrip-elskere, da Alexandria er 220 km væk fra Kairo. Alexandria var i lang tid centrum for den gamle middelhavsverden, og blev grundlagt af Alexander den Store i 331 f.Kr. og var engang Egyptens hovedstad. Det romerske amfiteater er centrum for det arkæologiske område Kom ELdikka med sine hvide marmorerede siddepladser, der har en plads på 600 pladser.

it was a very pleasant experience in alexandria, sakharra, and giza guided by Mister Maged who was knowledgeable of his stuff and appeared to be honest when it came to prices of everything, no tricks or scams. Places he took me to for lunch were also very memorable and had good food with great views

The tour itself was amazing! Ali our guide was wonderful and explained very well everything. He took us to lunch and we ate a crepe (Egyptian) and it was delicious. We had a 3 hr drive to and from Alexandria and out driver was falling asleep driving 120-130 km and hr on the highway. His eyes kept closing. He would open and close his window and we had at stop for him to get coffee. The worst thing was it was not even 9 am! We got traffic and he leaned on the window and started to snore….. this was the beginning of a 10-12 hr tour. We were very afraid of our way back in the evening to say the least. It was a very small car with no leg room and I am 5’1” ….
Dear Mrs. Evelyne thanks for your nice comment about the tour and many thanks for bringing this comment about the driver to our attention , please note in the last couple of days we ran investigation with the driver and the guide and we noticed the following : - 1- The road was closed because of the bad weather for more than one hour , that why the driver took the chance to sleep in his car but that is not meaning that he is not able to work and he completed your day very safely .Nevertheless we will monitor that driver and his work with us and he will note travel again , safety of our guest from our top priorities. 2- Maximum speed on Alexandria desert road is 120 KM , so driver was following the road instructions . 3- we promise you to keep the hard work to provide the best quality to our guest and looking forward having you again with us . best regards.

Good overall experience. Rain played a little spoil sport, but we were able to cover most of the good spots. The car was good - nice and clean. The guide was amazing - Ali. He showed us great spots and had a lot of passion for showing things.

My girlfriend and I decided to hire GEM Explore for a day trip to Alexandria from Cairo. We weee extremely happy with this decision. We had spent our first day with Mr Maged, and his driver Wayal, exploring Giza, the Musuem and Bazaar so we were already having a great experience with the knowledge and professionalism they had shown our first day. I would suggest for anyone wanting to explore a bit more than the Pyramids to make this 2 & 1/2 hr car journey. We felt comfortable the whole time and there is even a nice 1/2 way mark rest area for coffee, snacks and a clean bathroom. Once we got to Alexandria we got to visit the Catacombs, Roman Theater, Pompay Pillar & the citadel. All 4 were great s spots and nothing like what we saw in Cairo. It was very Interesting to see how the Romans built in Egypt and to know the history from Maged, the tour guide. After sightseeing we went to a wonderful restaurant and had a fresh piece of fish and some appetizers. This was our favorite meal in Egypt. It was right on the Mediterranean Sea with a gorgeous view.
