Efter at have delt historien om Come From Away med næsten en million mennesker, og samarbejdet i livet med født og opvokset Newfoundlander, Deneen, min lidenskab for dette sted er det, der driver mit ønske om at dele det med jer. * Alle ture vært og guidet af George, Deneen, og / eller historiker Dave Peters - der stammer fra en af Newfoundlands tidligste bosatte familier Alle er dybt fordybet i kulturen og traditionerne i dette land og er glade for at byde dig velkommen ind i historien :) **BEMÆRK: DENNE TUR FINDER STED I ST. JOHN'S, NEWFOUNDLAND, IKKE SAINT JOHN, NEW BRUNSWICK. Tjek venligst din rejseplan! I 2026 vil vi være vært for max 12 gæster/udflugt. Der vil ikke være store busture. *** Bemærk venligst, at alle tidspunkter er omtrentlige. Jeg skynder mig ikke :) For et øjeblik vil du være den østligste person i Nordamerika. Vi vil opleve kraften i det vilde Nordatlantiske hav, der kolliderer mod stenene, de historiske interessepunkter, herunder de massive kanoner, der blev installeret for at forsvare Nordamerika i 2. verdenskrig, og vi vil se Newfoundland's første fyr, ca. 1834.
Lige uden for St. John's ligger den maleriske, arbejdende fiskerlandsby Petty Harbour, hjemsted for Great Big Sea-sangeren Alan Doyle,
Vi bestiger den ikoniske Signal Hill, hjemsted for Cabot Tower, med en enestående udsigt over St. John's, hendes havn, Nordatlanten, Fort Amherst og Cape Spear. Herfra kan vi se i miles!
En off den ramte sti kystby på Conception Bay kysten med udsigt over skønheden i Bell Island,. Her vil vi stoppe for en foder af friskfanget skaldyr kogt op af lokalbefolkningen på By the Beach og derefter tage en køretur ved den historiske fiskerby Portugal Cove.
Efter at have lært om fiskeriet i Petty Harbour, vil vi passere gennem landbrugsfællesskabet Goulds.
Når vi krydser det større St. Johns område, og på vej til frokost i St. Philip's, passerer vi gennem Newfoundlands næststørste by, Mount Pearl.

A must do for fans of Come From Away but also great for other visitors to St John's. Fantastic tour with lots of great information and stories.
Don't hesitate to book this excursion. I believe it has been our best excursion to date. You will not be disappointed. George was not only knowledgeable but a real compassionate human being.
This was one of the highlights of our vacation in Newfoundland. George, who is the owner/operator of the tour company, planned and delivered a thorough experience of the highlights in and around St. John’s. George’s knowledge of the area, the people and customs gave us a deeper insight into what we were seeing. His BIG personality and gregarious nature meant he had friends and contacts at every stop along the way. I would highly recommend George and his tour company to anyone visiting the St. John’s NFLD area. He even had tips and suggestions for planned stops across the island, which we used and appreciated long after our tour.
We had a lovely day with George as he took us around St John’s hidden treasures! Lovely little villages, beautiful suburbs, awesome scenery-George showed it all to us while regaling us with info and stories of St. John’s. Cape spear was breathtaking as was Signal Hill. A tour not to be missed.
Fun tour! George is a riot. He provides allot of historical facts without being boring. Only 5 people on our tour. Fish dinner was amazing. Three days later and we are still talking about the tour to our friends and family. Highly recommended.

Wonderful time visiting the highlights of the area. George provided much information about the area, history and interesting stories. The fish and chips included were absolutely delicious. We loved having a small group instead of a large bus full. It was a great excursion from start to finish. We would highly recommend this tour to all.
