Monumenter Mindes det store spor, 1836, da nybyggerne skulle etablere Transvaal-kolonien. de stødte på nogle slag som slaget ved Blood River
Paul Krugers hus på nr. 60 Nkomo Street, tidligere kendt som Church Str. hus med galvaniseret bliktag og veranda er et museum, der indeholder de gamle originale monteringsmøbler, som blev brugt af Kruger-familien. Huset ligger lige overfor Gereformeerde kerk, kirken som Oom Paul og hans kone plejede at deltage i om søndagen, og han ville give et ord eller to, hvis der var brug for ham, selvom han aldrig var en prædikant. Ved indgangen lige ved Varender bliv budt velkommen af de to marmorløver doneret af Krugers ven, Barney Barnato.
Rådhuset med dets dødsdømte klokketårn blev indviet i 1935. Klokkespillet med 32 cylindriske klokker blev doneret af Sir George Heys, den første ejer af Melrose House.
Melrose House, i Jacob Mare Street, er huset, hvor underskrivelsen af Vereeniging-freden fandt sted den 31. maj 1902 for at afslutte krigen i Sydafrika. George Heys manden med mange mysterier, under krigen blev huset rekvireret af briterne som det kejserlige hovedkvarter i Sydafrika, og det blev forvandlet til bolig for lord Roberts, den øverstkommanderende for de britiske styrker. Sydafrikas regeringshovedkvarter er baseret på Meintlies Kop og kendt som Union Buildings. Det blev designet af Sir Herbert Baker i renæssancen med de klassiske idiomer. Bygget 1910 færdiggjort 1913.

A great overview of Pretoria including the major sights. Our guide Ben was informative and has an indepth knowledge of the freezes inside the Voortrekker monument, which was extreamily interesting and educational. Admissions were included to the sites, and there is time to explore the Monument and Ditsong Kruger Museum.
Transport was included. The tour was very private, just us to and the driver. Therefore just by car. We visited 3 places, and the Foretracker Monument was the most interesting a d we got the most information. The other 2 places, we visited mostly alone.
Ben was very good, accommodated our wishes and was very pleasant. We felt safe all the time while visiting the center of Pretoria.

Really excellent trip around Pretoria including Vortrekker monument, Kruger house, downtown Pretoria & finishing wandering around beautiful gardens & viewing the 9m tall bronze Mandela monument . Brilliant educated guide👍

Thank you to Ben! He fetched us from our hotel and drove us on a historic to present day tour of Pretoria. We learned a lot about the area and some about South Africa in general. We had a great tour of the Voortrekker monument and farm grounds, Kruger house museum, and the Union buildings where the giant statue of Mandela is located. Funny story while at the statue: there were a lot of elementary students there that day and as I was climbing back up the steps two young girls said hello. I said hello back and one asked how old I am. I told her I am 70, and she said 'Wow! You're old!' : )) We drove by Church Square, beautiful Palace of Justice building, sadly an unsafe area. We highly recommend this tour, it was well worth our time.

Ben came to collect us at 9am sharp. He was warm, friendly and very knowledgeable. We visited the main sites of historical interest and had plenty of time to look around. Ben gave us lots of additional background information as we drove around and at the sites. The only negative was a lack of air conditioning in the car - we opened the windows.
