Poble Sec og Sant Antoni tilbyder et nærmere kig på det lokale Barcelona-liv, med smalle gader, gamle teatre som El Molino og et tempo formet af beboere snarere end turister. Mens du går, vil du høre, hvordan disse kvarterer udviklede sig, hvordan udendørs social kultur som terrasse blev en del af hverdagen, og hvorfor dette område stadig føles jordet, selvom det langsomt ændrer sig. Smagningerne afspejler den samme lokale rytme. Ved hvert stop vil du prøve en række små retter, fra cádiz-stil tavernbidder som stegt fisk eller kureret tun til sæsonbetonede platillos tilberedt i et lille kokkekøkken, der kun åbner et par nætter om ugen. Aftenen afsluttes med et par nostalgiske desserter parret med cava. Hver stop tilbyder en anden blanding, afhængigt af dagen og gruppens præferencer.

Vi starter lige udenfor den berømte El Molino teater, som engang blev kaldt Le petit Moulin Rouge, før vi slanger vores vej gennem nabolaget Poble Sec, opdage tre af byens bedste restauranter.
Navngivet efter en berømt flamenco-sanger, er dette ikke helt en restaurant, men en sand sydlig stil tavern: ingen stole, bare stole og masser af karakter. Alt kommer fra Cádiz, ejerens hjemby, hvor hun får vin direkte fra små producenter. Forvent ærlig, ikke-frills madlavning, med smagsprøver som artichokes med mojama, pescaíto frito, svinekød stew sandwiches, eller sprød chicharrón, alle parret med hvid tørvin.
Oplev denne unge, livlige energi, hvor det at gribe et bord kan føles som en præstation i sig selv. Det er det perfekte sted at øve sig i "terracear"-kunsten: at hævde sig et sted på en terrasse og bevare det voldsomt, mens du spiser og snacks i et uhindret tempo, der indtager den livlige atmosfære.
Dette er en smuk og unik facade lavet med et farverigt patchwork af mosaikker. Det blev bygget i begyndelsen af 1900-tallet af en ukendt arkitekt.
Ekspert i højkvalitets platillos: små retter med bare en hint af fusion for at gøre dem spændende. Alle retter er lækre, men deres patatas bravas er virkelig uforglemmelige. Vi vil prøve nogle, sammen med noget DIY brød med tomat, gulerødder i Mellemøstlig stil, grillet iberisk svin, oxtail stuv, kødfyldt cannelloni eller sæsonbestemte grøntsagsretter, parret med rød catalansk vin.
Pladsen fik sit navn fra den oprindelige springvand, som senere blev flyttet til Montjuïc og erstattet af en kopi af Canaletes springvand. Det er hjemsted for Poble Sec's aktive borgerlige center og et perfekt sted for familier, der slapper af over drinks, mens børnene leger, der udtrykker den afslappede, sunde middelhavsby-livsstil lige i hjertet af byen.
Dette sted hylder slutningen af 90'erne og begyndelsen af 2000'erne, da Macaulay Culkin festede i Barcelona, før det var trendy. Den mærkelige indretning og mindeværdigheder fanger den tid, men den virkelige stjerne er desserterne - gå ikke glip af torrija og chokolade mousse med salt og olivenolie, bedst måske med et glas cava.

Esther was a superb host for our tour and gave us plenty of context to not only the food we were eating but the areas we were strolling through. Over the 3 hours we had more than enough to eat with a total of 6 savoury dishes that were all superb and mostly were tapas style dishes that I had never had before, which was unexpected. There were also 2 sweets and a total of 3 glasses of wine and I was lucky in that I only had two other people on the tour so it felt very exclusive and private. Would highly recommend.

This a must do experience. We went to three restaurants, all three were amazing. The tapas, the wine, the desserts- all very special. The guide, Esther was by far the best part. We felt very lucky that she was our guide she showed us places that we would’ve otherwise walked right past. She was fun, kind and so generous with her time and knowledge- not only of Barcelona but the other cities we were going to cost next on our trip. Don’t leave Barcelona without taking this tour!

This is a great tour of a less touristy area. We loved exploring a residential neighbourhood and seeing where the locals eat. Everything we ate was excellent! Our guide Kornelia was excellent and gave us lots of local insights and tips for our stay. If you want to see a beautiful neighbourhood with a very chill vibe, absolutely check out this tour. This is also a lovely area to stay if you're looking for somewhere more laid-back (we're staying in Sant Antoni). We will definitely be going back to the places we went on the tour!
