Great cruise ship excursion
Our chef Maham was a very good instructor and was so patient with all of us at different cooking levels. Such a fun experience while we traveled on a cruise ship. A great way to sample the national pastry and get the recipe to try and recreate it at home.

You need to do this!!
We had such fun making pastel de natas with Maham. It was such a unique way to experience a little authentic dessert with friends. Great location! All the supplies were ready to make it! Maham was awesome! She was so patient with us novices! We highly recommend this fun and tasty experience!

Not quite as expected !
Overall it was an enjoyable experience - although I felt we could have received better VFM as we only made 4 small pastel de natas between the 2 of us !
Also rather disappointing to find that the recipe we received by email differed quite a bit from the actual technique we were shown.
I am trying it today and fingers crossed it works but I feel I’m starting from scratch !!!

Just to clarify, during the class each guest makes 2 Pastéis de Nata, so 4 for two people is the normal quantity included in the experience. The idea of the class is to learn the process and techniques so you can then recreate them at home.
The recipe we send after the class is adapted for home baking and makes around 30 Pastéis de Nata. Of course, you can reduce the quantities if you would like to make a smaller batch.

Great baking class to learn how to make a the favorite portuguese treat
The class was small, just me and a family of 3. The chef/instructor had everything prepared and explained things well. The class was well time at 2 hours and very interactive. We worked in teams of 2 to create 6 pastel de natas and got to each eat 2 with an expresso. The location is a bit out of the typical tourist area but close to a metro so easy enough to get to.

Great activity for family and friends
Chef Maham gave very clear instructions and explanation. Making the pastel de nata was fun, easy under her supervision, systematic, and precise. The pastel de nata was so delicious. The crust was flaky and crispy. The custard was soft and delectable. Very good recipe.

Great experience with perfectly turned out pastries
As a family of four including two teenagers we absolutely loved this experience. Malam was patient and knowledgeable and miraculously our pastries turned out perfectly. It was a lot of fun and I would even be able to make these at home. So I would highly recommend this course.

Family experience
This was a memorable family experience for my partner and I and our three teenagers. We learnt something and enjoyed eating our tarts.

Awesome hands-on pastel de nata baking experience with a local baker :)
Awesome class and really caring instructor who actually spends the time getting to know you! My friend and I walked away with 6 delicious pastel de natas, and the full walk through on all the techniques, etc. to be able to replicate this back home. Our chef even went above and beyond to send us the recipe afterwards and set up a cute little dinner table for us to enjoy the pastel de natas together :) Highly recommend!

Great experience overall
It was a great time learning all the steps of making the Portugal classic treat. The staff was very professional and friendly. We were able to enjoy our creation with a beverage of our choice. I recommend this activity for families and even kids.
