We were not called as stated. Museum would not accept your tickets. We were there early for tour…so very disappointing.
Dear Karen, we are very sorry to read your comments, and would like to invite you to contact us on contact@memories-france.travel to explain them in more details please. We do call all guests who are late to the meeting point. We called and left a message on your voicemail at 10:26am on the telephone number that you entered on your booking (tour departure 10:30am) but we did not hear back from you. Your guide waited with the other guests until 10:35, but then out of respect for them and with no news from you, she started the tour. The voucher that we send you is not the tickets, the guide has your tickets with them. Our guide is always at the meeting point 15 minutes before the tour departure time, we are sorry that you did not find them, and that you did not contact us so we could help you. Whilst we do call all guests, our number is also clearly given on the voucher so you can call us if ever you need help. We hope you had a great stay in Paris nonetheless.
The tour guide is very informative and engaging. You get an opportunity to see all of the highlights.
From the Venus de Milo to Liberty Leading the People, without forgetting the Mona Lisa - we are here to show you the stars of the Louvre catwalk in all their glory and to let you in on the reasons they are so iconic. Thank you, Deborah, for this fantastic review- we work hard to earn it!
Amazing tour. Booked last minute seamless meet up right by the Louvre. Our tour guide Marie was awesome just what we wanted saw the highlights. This tour is 100 percent legit and worth it unlike some others it appears. 5 stars!
Marie will be over the moon at your kind words for her / our whirlwind whistlestop tour of the Louvre's Best Of - it was a pleasure to have you and thank you so much for the fantastic five stars!
The worst operator I have ever worked with. We booked a semi-private tour, were running 5 minutes late due to rain and a baby, and they left without us. They were impossible to get on the phone for 30 minutes and we were unable to get into the Louvre at that point. Don't work with them if you expect any level of customer service or flexibility.
Dear Mr Shanken, We are so sorry to have missed you for your Louvre tour! We looked for you and waited as long as we could without losing the slot we had booked months in advance, which would hardly be fair to the other members of your small group, who had two infants with them and were there at the requested 15 minutes before launch, despite the rain. We ask our guests to arrive that quarter of an hour early precisely in order to help people lost navigate to destination. We can, however, only wait so long before the tour simply must begin or the museum will cancel our scheduled entry. I will affirm that you were not five minutes after the tour, but rather ten, which is 25 minutes after we ask our guests to be present and accounted for. We could hardly leave the others and go in search of you, again, as it would not be fair to the those who arrived as scheduled, despite two infants and inclement weather. Records show that we called you, as we call all our guests as a courtesy who might be lost, at 9:58, asking the others to wait five minutes, and you returned that call at 10:09. Our customer service spent the next twenty minutes trying to get you to your guide but once the guide is in the museum, they are next to impossible to reach, as they are immersed in handling all that is involved in conducting a tour. Although it is hard to see what more we might have done for you, we are very disappointed that you could not join us in the end, and we missed having you.
The experience started immediately as we skipped every line and entered the museum swiftly. No time lost. Our guide Monty, was fantastic and personable. His familiarity with the museum was demonstrated by how quickly he was able to get us around in the correct order to avoid crowds. He took us to the masterpieces and gave us insightful information. He took wonderful pictures of us that made it memorable forever. It was evident that he was well known at the museum and he was able to get the best views of all the must see highlights as the louvre is such a huge museum we could not have done it on our own and seen as much as we did. He was able to get a picture of us right in front of the Mona Lisa skipping all the crowds. There’s no other way to see this museum without a private tour. It makes all the difference. We weren’t sure if we should attempt the Louvre in just two hours, but this tour made it happen. We highly recommend this tour company and Monty overall. This was one of the best experiences of our life. Thank you Monty for making our vacation great.
Wow! thank you so much for this detailed and glowing review- it is deeply rewarding to read. We absolutely agree that you should not attempt a two-hour tour of the Louvre without a guide to show you the way. Even with more time, however, there are so many works and a whole labyrinth of vast corridors, all packed to the rafters with masterpieces, that to go it alone is going to be a complete overwhelm. We are so glad to have been able to give you the best Louvre experience possible! Thank you for letting us know and we'll hope our paths cross again!
We had the absolute pleasure of touring the Louvre with Ivan as our private guide, and it was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Paris. From the moment we met, Ivan was warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly passionate about the art and history housed within the museum. We were able to skip the line—a huge bonus since the Louvre was fully booked for days and we were leaving Paris the next morning. That alone made the private tour worth every penny. But what made the experience truly exceptional was Ivan’s insight. He gave us the inside scoop on the most important pieces—from Greek antiquities to Michelangelo’s sculptures, to the transition into oil painting. He didn’t just walk us through the Louvre; he brought the stories behind the art to life. When we got to the Mona Lisa, he made sure we understood her place in history, beyond the hype. Ivan took his time with us, answered every question, and helped us focus on what mattered most. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by the sheer size of the Louvre, we felt like we were on a curated journey through time. If you're even thinking about doing a private tour—especially when time is limited—book with Ivan. He made what could have been a rushed, crowded visit into a relaxed, rich, and unforgettable experience. One of the best decisions we made in Paris.
Ivan is leading us right now in our happy dance, with the whole Memories family joining in. As you so beautifully put it "a curated journey through time" captures exactly what we want to offer you. We like to be your friend on the ground who knows how to get you through the immense and confusing corridors of the Louvre to exactly what you want to see, and, more importantly, to let you know why, whether that be the Leonardos or the Venus de Milo and so much more - the queen of museums is chock full of masterpieces to the point of being overwhelming - we make sure that doesn't happen, and you get the very best out of your visit. We are so grateful for this lovely, exceptional review and that you chose to explore the Louvre with us to begin with. Thank you from the heart from the whole Memories family <3
Ivan was a great tour guide offered in depth explanations on top of adding his own flair and charisma to the tour, without Ivan the museum would be too confusing to navigate on my own.
We are delighted to know our whistle stop tour of the Louvre collections made your experience there unforgettable. The museum is huge and overwhelming and we like to be your friends on the ground making it manageable, someone who knows what to see and why, and how to get you there as quickly and painlessly as possible. Ivan will be so pleased to know he hit a home run, as is the whole Memories family!
I only had one day to visit the Louvre Museum so I wanted to make sure I saw the most important and famous pieces during my visit. So I opted for the guided tour which insured I would see the most famous of them without wandering aimlessly through the vast complex of the Louvre. Our guide Addy was great. She explained each piece and it's history and she made sure we weren't rushed. She was one of the best tour guides I've had over the years. She was very mindful of those tourists in her group that needed assistance such as where the elevators were. A very caring tour guide!
The Louvre in a day is a tall order, but we're here to make it happen and we're delighted to know we made it happen for you! Thank you so much for this kind and detailed review -- which we will be sure to send on to Addy -- and for taking the time out to write it! We also are very aware that different visitors have different needs and are trained to be aware and as helpful as can be, thank you for noticing that.
Stephanie was an amazing guide! She was punctual, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Skipped a very large line and felt like a V.I.P. with a small-group tour.
As well you should feel, like a V.I.P.!! We like to make sure that our guests are each treated with special attention so thank you for letting us know we succeeded. Thank you for your kind comments- we will definitely be passing them on to Stephanie!
Our Guide was wonderful and skipping the line was worth the extra cost. Would recommend to anyone looking to see this Museum.
We do so love to share our enthusiasm in the Orsay with our guests and are glad to know we could optimize your vacation time with sipping the line. Thanks so much for the great review!
