Rejseplan

If you want to get away from the city and get some tranquility amidst beautiful views of Oslo, combined with a nice, leisurely hike on two islands, this is the tour for you. Charlotte, our guide, was knowledgeable, pleasant, and friendly. She took us to her favorite spots on both islands where the views were amazing. The pacing of the hike was just right and we took our time looking around, taking in the scenery, and getting great pictures of nature. I highly recommend this tour for a quick respite from hustle and bustle of the metropolis.
Nice tour of the islands ! I’m glad I did it, because I’m not sure it I would have dared to organise it all by myself. As the tour says , you visit two Norwegian islands. Sadly there’s not a lot of time to visit them but I still managed to quickly swim . The guide was super friendly and open to any questions.
When in Oslo, join the locals and experience the islands of Oslo Fjord with this perfect afternoon hike and exploration tour! Easy to locate meet up point and walk to Anker brygge to hop onboard our first ferry ride (tickets included.) In about 30 minutes we were hiking the scenic “cabin” island of Nakkholmen and enjoying the wonderful views back toward Oslo. We then ferried over to Hovedoya and hiked to visit the ancient monastery built in ~1150 and then on to the bluff overlooking the fjord that has protected the Oslo harbor for centuries. We had time for a walk to the beach before returning to Oslo by ferry. Alexandra was full of insights and info - just enough to be a “tour” while not overwhelming our outdoor experience. 5 Stars!
It was interesting. You ride the ferry, not a boat per se. Our guide was great. Lots of walking in uneven surfaces. Just an fyi in case this is a problem for someone. Overall, it was nice.
Our guide was knowledgeable. The tour was not quite what I was expecting. There was a lot of walking involved. If you have mobility issues, this tour is not for you. You’re left sitting on a bench to wait for the others while they hike. I really enjoyed swimming in the fjord and seeing the two islands. My family enjoyed the tour very much, thus the four star rating. I’m not as mobile and missed a lot. This should be called an island hopping and HIKING tour.
In the Tour specification it clearly said that a part would be by tram, this was not fulfilled, the guide the guides took us walking. On the other hand, it wasn't bad, but it was by Public Transport and we could have also done it privately without hiring a Tour, it didn't seem like anything dazzling to me.
Thank you so much for booking a tour with us! From time to time, the guide chooses to walk down to the quay instead of riding the tram. There may be various reasons for this. The tram ride is not an important part of this tour. We hope you enjoyed the islands, learned something new, and saw places you wouldn't have found on your own.
Guides are good. Friendly and knowledgeable. It should be advertised as a walking tour that goes to Islands. You spend more time walking than "Island Hopping".
Enjoyable three hour tour. Smooth ferry ride across to two nearby islands in Oslofjord and an hour on each island for a gentle walk. Nice views across the water to other islands and to Oslo. I particularly enjoyed the summer houses in Scandinavian colors -deep red, ochre yellow, blue and white. Locals were using the same ferry to get to their summer houses, carrying bags of food, maybe some clothes and drinks. Like being in the country side, but so close to Oslo central. Our guide explained some local history which was interesting. We walked past some local swimming spots, mainly ladder rungs going down rocky granite to the fjord. A very worthwhile short day trip from Oslo, showing something that locals enjoy.
Our guide was the best we could have hoped for. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive.
It was a pretty nice tour to become feeling of Norway. I liked the ships, walking on the islands, and ruines. Also we saw a wild fox.
