Oslo fjord 3 - Middagskursus med levende musik

Beskrivelse

It’s expensive, the pictures look good, the vessel is in pristine condition and it’s electric, so it’s quite & smooth . So far so good but the 3 course dinner is diabolical, they tell you it’s from a Michelin star restaurant, and that may well be true, but this is where things go wrong. Starter - some sort of shaved vegetable with cut up green beans in a bowl tasteless and tiny portion. Main course - boiled ling in a watery almost clear sauce, with a slice of cabbage again in a bowl tasteless and tiny portion again. Dessert - Almond & apple slice 2cm square , that’s it? The cruise was disappointing, it’s billed as fjord cruise but we went around the two nearest islands, across & between the two marinas turned around, back around the same islands, then hugged the shoreline (most interesting of all) back to the jetty. So we left the vessel 2.5 hours later really hungry & felt robbed of what had the making of a unique experience.
You need to eat before you go as the food is minimal, starter was some sliced veg on some sliced green beans. Tastless, main boiled fish in a watery sauce with fennel. Desert a tiny piece 2cm square of apple tart with Almond. No custard or cream. We were starving when we docked. The boat went round the first two islands nearest port then between the marina's then back round the islands than followed the shoreline back to pier3. Its a great shame we didn't go down the fjord and enjoy the scenery there? Such a disappointment & poor value for money.
A very good three-course menu, attentive service, piano and bass in the background, and all that on a ship in Oslo harbor. What more could you want?
Great food. Great music. Great atmosphere. Great service. Great views. Very comfortable and enjoyable.
A party of 4 adults, we arrived in Oslo on the Friday afternoon and thought a dinner cruise on the Fjord would be a good start to our trip. It certainly was! The boat was spotless, the team were friendly & helpful and the sun was shining! We had low expectations of what the dinner might be but it was delicious and exceeded our expectations. I hadn't realised when I booked this experience that the live music was a pianist. Perhaps not our thing but it was very good and set the ambience. The cruise was largely taken by couples. We travelled with our son (who lives in Norway) & his girlfriend. It was an ideal catch up for us. The only negative would be the price, with drinks excluded it's quite expensive. It would be good if there was even a welcome drink included. My husband has a vested interest in boats and had a long chat with the engineer which made his day! Thanks to veryone invloved. We had a great time.
Fun and relaxing tour through the fjord islands on a picture-perfect evening. The food is fine, but the service is spectacular. You are there for the experience with family and friends.
The boat was only partially full, which made the experience much more enjoyable. You had the ability to freely roam at will and change seats as the view changed. All of the crew was extremely nice.
The food was top quality and the 2 ladies were both amazing helpful and helped male the trip memorable
The 3 course meal is simple but tasty. The most enjoyable part was the boat ride itself. Olso is beautiful with amazingly architectural buildings.
We lucked out and got to do this on a beautiful day. We especially enjoyed seeing all the locals playing in the water as we cruised by. It was so gorgeous and so peaceful. The boat was nicely equipped, and it was fun to go up to the top to lookout and then again it was nice to just sit in the dining room and look out the windows. We were there for the experience, not the food although we did eat the dinner they provided, but it was a bit less than we had expected terms of quality. The bottle of red wine we ordered was so warm that we had to ask them to put it in an ice bucket to bring it up to a drinkable temperature.
