The location was a little out of the way in a quiet Osaka neighborhood. Highly recommend this cooking experience hosted by yayo in her home. We learned to make several traditional Osaka dishes that were delicious. Our host was so personable, and knowledgeable. We are going home with new recipes that we will cherish for years to come.
Best experience ever. Yoya was so kind and a fantastic host and teacher. Our dinner guests were so nice also and a pleasure to have had this experience with them
What can I say about Yayo? I have booked Yayo's cooking class COUNTLESS TIMES since 2023 for my clients (I'm a travel advisor). My clients always came back from Japan saying she was the best experience they had. When I went for my birthday in May 2026 I knew I had to experience her class for myself. She is worth EVERY single amazing review. She's funny, super patient and kind. She makes the class so special. Especially after telling her we had just gotten engaged. PLUS the food is out of this world delicious. I was eating Okonomikayi again for breakfast the next day lol. Thank you Yayo. You've made a special even better.
I had an amazing time with Yayo learning how to make okonomiyaki, miso soup, Taiyaki and Dashimaki. A great opportunity to learn more about Osaka cuisine !
My son and I took the cooking class ! It was in the instructors home ! She couldn't have been more nice and helpful we loved what we made . I highly recommend this experience !
The hostess was excellent about giving the history and differences of the 4 dishes we made. She was well organized and patient. The food was delicious and plentiful. Highly recommend.
Altogether an incredible experience. If you are on the fence about trying this cooking class, you should definitely just go. It's one of the if not the best thing we tried during our trip to Japan.
The class was informative and was to follow but also made very entertaining and fun by Yayo's charm. The results of the class were also very tasty and a little gift to commemorate the experience with perfectly rounded it out. We had a lot of fun and would recommend it for a chill and fun way to learn about local dishes.
Yayo was a great cooking teacher and this was such a fun experience. She made cooking Japanese food very approachable and beginner friendly. She also gave us recommendations for restaurants around Osaka which were great!
We had so much fun with Yayo! She was so welcoming and sweet (not to mention an excellent cook!). She has thought out every aspect of the experience and really does a great job explaining how to cook the dishes and letting you cook with guidance! It was so charming that she does this in her home and that her mom makes plum wine and miso for her cooking classes! This was a highlight of our trip and memories we will cherish! Ookini Yayo!
