Oregon Coast Tour fra Portland
Beskrivelse
Med over 300 miles af den offentlige kystlinje er Oregon strande helt sikkert forbløffet over deres dramatiske offshore klippeformationer og genfødte strandbyer. Denne tur vil rejse langs en af de mest maleriske køreveje i landet, US HWY 101. Vi vil tilbringe dagen med at udforske betagende strande og se fantastisk udsigt over kysten.

Vores centrale mødested og afhentningspunkt! En smuk bypark midt i Downtown Portland.
Efter morgenen kører langs Sunset Highway, Oregon's første bilrute gennem Cascade Mountain Range, vil vi meander gennem en frodig Sitka granskov til Ecola State Park. Vi vil øjeblikkeligt forlade køretøjet bagud og udforske denne kystnære oase. Hvis tiden tillader det, kan vi også rejse tilbage gennem skoven til indisk strand. Denne afsondrede lomme gemmer sig væk fra meget af sommertimmen og er et yndet sted for lokale strandkamere.
Efter at have forladt Ecola State Park, vil vi være sikker på at besøge Haystack Rock, en havstabel lige ved kysten af Cannon Beach, der blev berømt af sin lighed med sin navnebror. Påstås at være den tredje højeste "tidevandsstruktur" i verden, det er en enorm basaltrock, der blev dannet af lavastrømme for mere end 15 millioner år siden! Her går vi langs sandstranden, ser smukke fugle rundt om klippen, og hvis vi er heldige og tidevandet er ude, vil vi se mange arter af marine dyreliv i deres naturlige tidevandsbassin habitat.
Byen Cannon Beach vil være baggrunden for vores frokost stop for dagen. Gæsterne vil sprede fritid og kan vælge mellem flere småbyer, der hver især har deres egne eklektiske menuer.
Om eftermiddagen løber vi sydpå på den berømte Pacific Coast Scenic Byway (Highway 101) for at udforske smukkere kyststrande.
På Neahkahnie Overlook, vil vi stoppe for at nyde en fantastisk udsigt langs den højeste kørsel-stand punkt langs Oregon kysten!
Vi rejser til Oswald West State Park, der er passende navngivet efter Oregon Governor Oswald West. Governor West er krediteret med at sikre, at vores store Oregon-kystlinie vil forblive åben til offentlig brug. Vores stop i statsparken vil være tidevand og gruppeafhængig. Vi kan vælge at tage en kort skovrejse langs langs Short Sand Creek, som åbner til en drivved stablet kystlinje kendt som Smugglers Cove. En variabel fra dette stop kan være et kort besøg til Hug Point, hvis tidevandet er lavt. Her er vi typisk i stand til at gå rundt for at se et lille kystvandfald!
Vi slutter dagen med at komme tilbage til downtown Portland med en drop off tilbage i Director Park.

Great guide )Andy). Very personable and relatable. He really knows the Oregon coast. He tools us on a couple of “extra stops” that were delightful. The van is brand new and very comfortable. It even has USB ports for charging phones. I highly recommend this tour.

A wonderful day. Patrick our guide was very informative friendly and entertaining. The weather was mostly with us and we had some gorgeous views. Would very much recommend this tour to anyone.
Aaron was so knowledgable and I learned so much along the way. The route we took was perfect and so gorgeous. So much nostalgia for me seeing where the Goonies rode their bikes, the hill and of course the rock. Had the best time.
The trip was wonderful with incredible views and locations, a knowledgeable and fun guide who had great portland tips. Would definitely recommend and would book again.
Our first time in OR we decided to explore the area by booking some Viator tours. The coast tour was amazing. Our guide Eric took such great care of us. I can’t imagine having a better experience visiting Ecola park, Canon beach, Sandy beach and everything in between.
Only stopped at 2 locations due to weather and accident. I know neither of those things were anyone’s fault but they made for a disappointing experience. Also I went on another all day tour with another company a few days ago and they had granola bars which was very helpful when you’re moving all morning from one stop to another and lunch isn’t for a few more hours (and I’m a tourist, it’s not like I can grab granola bars from home). Also the guide on the other tour gave us ideas on where to eat and visit around Portland. That was mostly missing here. But anyway the tour guide did the best he could under the circumstances. But overall experience was disappointing.
Hi Caroline, We are sorry about the circumstances regarding weather and the accident on the Coastal Highway during your tour. Your guide was in frequent contact with us throughout the day and as you said, he tried his best to get you beach access and to get to as many stops as possible. It does appear you drove the entire route of our tour yesterday, though we understand the weather did not cooperate for ideal views at some of the stops. If you are ever back in Portland we would love to have you experience the tour again the way intended, as both uncooperative weather and road conditions are unusual!

The destination was everything that I expected and more. The tour guide was not that great. She was silent for the majority of the tour. She shared nothing or very little about the surrounding areas that we passed through or visited. She was not very informative or engaging. She was polite and seemed kind. However, she was not an active guide. She also never walked with us or made herself present at any of the destinations.
