The Best Way to Experience Rome in One Day If you have limited time in Rome and want to see as much as possible while truly understanding the city’s incredible history, Andrea M. with Best Rome Driver is the person to book. My wife and I had only 9 hours in Rome, arriving by train from Tuscany, and Andrea transformed what could have been an overwhelming day into one of the highlights of our entire Italy vacation. Andrea is far more than a driver. He is a passionate historian, storyteller, local expert, and ambassador for Rome. Throughout the day, he provided fascinating insight into ancient Roman life, the emperors, the Vatican, the Renaissance, and modern Rome. Every stop had context, meaning, and stories that brought the city to life. We visited the Colosseum, Roman Forum, St. Peter’s Square, Vatican City, and numerous hidden locations we never would have found on our own. His ability to navigate Rome efficiently allowed us to maximize every minute while avoiding unnecessary stress. One of our favorite experiences was enjoying authentic Roman gelato while hearing stories about the city’s rich history. Andrea’s recommendations for food, viewpoints, and photo opportunities were outstanding. He seemed to know exactly where to be and when to be there. What stood out most was Andrea’s genuine enthusiasm and pride in sharing his city. By the end of the day, we felt less like tourists and more like guests being shown around by a knowledgeable friend. One day auto tour of Rome. Saw all the historic sights
We had an amazing day in Rome. Beatrice was our guide and was exceptional throughout the day in showing us so much of the history and beautiful architecture throughout the city. Our family consisted of my husband, 2 sons (both young adults under 22) and myself. Our time in Rome was short, we came 2 days prior to embarking on a cruise. We could have spent weeks in Rome alone and, so going in we knew one day would only give us a glimpse. What we didn’t expect was how much Beatrice would bring that glimpse to life. She didn’t just point things out, she gave us real context, stories, and details that made every stop feel meaningful. You could tell she genuinely loves this city, and that came through in everything she shared. She was incredibly kind, patient with our many questions, and made sure everyone in our group felt included. We can’t recommend this experience enough.
We received a view of most of the city with stops at the important ones. Peter was our driver, guide and companion for the day. He was wonderful and we would recommend him to anyone.
Alex Paolini was a great tour guide and driver. Our car was brand new and clean and he had water waiting for us along with pre-purchase Trevi fountain tickets so that we did not have to wait in line. He was able to rearrange our schedule so that we could enjoy the trip with teenagers. My kids had a fantastic time. He sent us easy GPS instructions to be able to find him and he maneuvered thru traffic and a bike tour that was blocking all the major roads and we never felt stressed and he never made us feel rushed. He recommended a great place for lunch that was air-conditioned and the food was incredible. I would definitely recommend this trip for any large family who does not want to walk from place to place and enjoy Rome in a day.

Alex Paolini was our driver and tour guide. He was excellent! This was an excellent tour that was at our own pace. While it says 8 hours it can be shorter if you wish depending on how long you want to spend at each stop. We were not at all rushed and took our time and still finished early which was welcomed after spending all week in Europe touring. This is a perfect tour you have a limited time in Rome like us and want to see as much as you can while not running around trying to get taxi/walking. I would highly recommend this especially if you can get Alex as your driver/tour guide!
The whole entire trip has been fantastic! The driver, Alex Paolini, has been extremely courteous, funny, and informative throughout the trip. I would DEFINITELY recommend him as our, or any other family and/or friends coming to Rome, driver.
