Der er 02 tog med pr. dag. 9.00 2.30 pm Du kan vælge den foretrukne tid fra ovenstående, og vi forsøger altid at levere, hvad du ønsker. Hvis der sker ændringer, vil vi informere dig på forhånd. Her er der ikke krav om en trykt billet. Vi vil sende e-billet til dig via whatsapp eller e-mail. Sørg for at nævne dit kontaktnummer ved booking. Ellers kan du sende os en besked til det nævnte kontaktnummer. Prisen på billetten er forskellig fra den pris, vi tilbyder, da servicegebyret er tilføjet.

Ella togrejse betragtes som en af de smukkeste togrejser i verden. På grund af reparationerne af togbanen, nu toget starter fra Ambewela station. Som ligger tæt på Nuwaraeliya. Det skaber meget smukt, grønt landskab fra det øjeblik du starter rejsen til du når slutningen. Toget rejser mellem bakkerne / bjergene, teområder, over floder og vandfald mv. Toget kører dagligt, og du modtager billetten fra Ambewela til Ella med reserverede pladser (Sædenummeret er trykt på billetten) Billetter vil blive tildelt fra 2. eller 3. klasse reserverede busser afhængigt af tilgængeligheden. Der er ikke meget forskel mellem de to klasser, da begge kommer med åbne vinduer, hvor du kan nyde det bedste af den naturskønne rejse. Kun passagerer med reserverede sæder er tilladt at rejse i dette tog og ingen stående passagerer. Derfor toget ikke bliver overfyldt som de almindelige busser med ubeserverede pladser.

This was a great trip! We booked this via GetYourGuide a couple of months ago and our contact person (Chathuri) always made sure we were updated on the process! They book your 2nd class reserved seat as soon as possible to make sure you are seated together with friends or family. The tickets came in the mail one day before the train ride as communicated. Very nice train ride and an amazing way to get tickets since the normal 2nd class is very very very crowded we were very happy to be in the reserved wagon. Would definitely recommend and even more so with Chathuri!😁 #happycustomer

Chathuri secured our family of 6 tickets for the Ella train. It is quite difficult to buy tickets for such a popular route, and Chathuri did this for me after I booked ahead with him. I highly recommend doing so! His communication was timely and always kept me in the loop. If you are keen to experience the train, then look no further but to book here. It’s an amazing opportunity!
Sadly the “Famous Blue Train” was a bust in my opinion. It’s very overcrowded and therefore unless you’re one of the fortunate few to get a seat you’re standing for over three hours with people pushing past you all the time. And if you’re thinking of going there and back in a day to look around, forget it! You have less than 1 hour before the last train returns to Ella so few options to eat or drink and then you’ll be out of the queue for seats so you’ll spend another 3 hours standing up on a crowded train. When the scenery does appear out of the banks along the track it’s often so quick you don’t get a good photo anyway. And if you’re standing your photo is taken through the dirty glass window. For us and others passengers it felt like a waste of a day and very tiring. My recommendation is don’t go just for a day but if you have to or want to ride the train spend the money and reserve a seat.
Precise and punctual. The tickets were delivered to us the very morning of the trip via WhatsApp in digital format. Therefore, we did not have any direct contact with the agency staff, even though they always responded to us both via WhatsApp and by phone. Nalin assisted us by phone.
I do not recommend it at all, they left us without tickets. They sent us the tickets the night before and they were wrong. When going to catch the train, they told us that the time was wrong. Finally, we had to get some tickets on our own for second class, and since we hadn't gone with enough time to wait in line because we supposedly already had tickets, we had to stand. Regardless, the trip seemed quite overrated to me. In the end, they gave us a full refund, at least there's that. But the trip standing up (when we specifically wanted to avoid that), the bad time during the trip, and the handling of the refund, no one can take that away from us.

Mahaweli Tours is a reliable company for buying tickets for the train journey to Ella. Nalin van has helped us very well. The contact via Whatsapp went smoothly. We received answers to all our questions within a short time. We received the e-tickets by Whatsapp the night before departure as agreed.
The process is easy, after the purchase they text you in one day. Tickets arrived the day before and the trip went good even if it was in flood days. The communication with Nalin has been easy and professional.
After several days trying to get tickets for the Ella train without success, we found Mahaweli Tours & Holidays and it was the best decision. We want to make a special mention of Nalin, who was always attentive, responding quickly and explaining each step of the process to us with total clarity. Thanks to him we were able to enjoy one of the most anticipated experiences of our trip. It is true that the price is higher than the official one, but in exchange you have the peace of mind of getting the tickets when they seem impossible to find. As a minor detail, we were assigned separate seats, although once inside the train we were able to solve it easily with other passengers. Highly recommended.
