I took the aurora tour in February and it was hands down the best decision I made. If you’re looking for a tour that feels personal rather than commercial, this is it. The organization was top-notch, but what really stood out was the human approach of the staff. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating facts about the lights that you won't find in a basic brochure. Even though we were there for the Aurora, some of my favorite memories are actually from the "downtime." Sitting by the fire, drinking delicious hot chocolate, and making s'mores while chatting with new people from all over the world was a magical experience. It felt like a gathering of friends rather than a group of strangers. As for the main event—the Aurora was breathtaking. I managed to get some stunning photos that I will cherish forever. It was a truly incredible event and worth every cent. If you're on the fence about booking, just do it. You won’t regret it! P.S. If you are like me and forgot a tripod (which turned to be quite important) a small pot or a big coffe mug works just as good :) Saying from experience.
Albeit NL sightings not promised, I dont think the tour delivered what it said. They mentioned we will touch 3 locations but ended up only 2: Hansnes and Stornes. The weather was harsh with the strong wind and cloudy skies plus the rain. Most of us anticipated a 3rd venue so we stayed put as we waited to leave but to our disappointment, we were already headed back to Tromso at midnight. The word "Chase" in the title is misleading. It's just 2 spots. Lucky if they even make good with their words. On board: Angel, Nana (asst), Oge (driver, local). Tragic. I immediately canceled the other tour with this provider.
Very nice adventure! They drove far to find clear skies, we could also have warm chocolate and a expedition food that was better than expected.
Our tour guides and drivers are very nice and patient. They speak clearly and true facts about the Aurora Borealis.
That was great! Good snack, amazing dawn, comfortable bus.
It was a great tour despite the weather manged to get some nice photos and the scenery was lovely. It was very nice to have the option to get back on the bus when we needed to warm up a bit. The guides were really welcoming and knowledgeable.
There was no chasing the lights. They took us to spot, arrived about 7pm still overcast but expected to clear up about 9pm. It just happens to be spot where all the busses go as well. There 5 buses/250 people in the same place to see northern lights. We arrived about 7 pm,it was dark out and there was patches of icy snow and round tuffs of moss so it was difficult to move around without light. So of course everyone was using lights which blinded me wiping out my night vision making it hard to see the sky. The Northern Lights were there but very faint, at first couldn't get a picture of it. They did get a little better as the night progress but not until after 9pm. Unfortunately, we got a great string of light but we had to leave. So wonder if it would have built into a great show had we stayed 15 min longer.
We went on the Aurora chase with Dimitar and Angel. It was very good experience, and they made all the efforts for us to be comfortable and show us the Aurora. There was a lot of cloud cover but they drove us really far inland, almost to the Finland border to find a gap in the clouds. And we did. And we received great photos from them. Thank you.
Wonderfull, very well organized tour. The tourguide was really an expert and the busdriver very experienced. Arctic Explorers was very communicative so no worries that you will miss the bus or so. We had the amazing experience of seeing the northern lights in a beautiful valley somewhere close to the border of Finland, with a warm bus to warm up every now and then and a nice campfire with some treats. The photo's made by the tourguide were a very nice gift, too! 100% super fantastic experience
Incredible experience and Miguel and Angel were great guides!
