Northern Bintan Full Day Tour

Wonderful driver… courteous, good English Hiring a buggy with a driver at the safari park was well worth the extra $35 for the two of us on a hot day …. Both in our seventies

Giving 3 stars based on the following: Pros: - very friendly and polite driver with excellent service. - the blue lake and sand dunes were one of a kind. Just bring a fan and umbrella along as there is no shade and no breeze when we were there. - mangroves tour was very nice with good your guides Cons: - Expect to spend 500,000 IDR extra for Lagoi safari to get their buggy ride. It's not really walkable as it's too big and hot. 450,000 IDR extra to feed the animals and so on. Nothing cheap here. It was raining when we got there so we decided to skip it and go to lunch. We didn't bother going back as we found it to be a tourist trap. - Seafood lunch was hard to swallow. We were only able to eat the fried egg, stir fried veges and white rice. Even rice was very dry and we had to add sauce to it to make it edible. The seafood was fish that was full of batter and a bit strong on the smell as well as the sea snails. They had chicken deep fried in some weird caramel butter sauce that was sweet and mostly batter and bones. Giant Buddha was nice to see for a bit and take some photos. Nothing else worth mentioning on the tour.

A very nice trip, we were the only guests, so we could customize the trip. Moderner SUV. The tour guide (driver) was super punctual, very nice, friendly and helpful. We drove to all points, super nice, except for one point: The Safari Park. Please DO NOT visit or boycott this park. Most exotic animals are not kept there in a species-appropriate manner, it is already bordering on animal cruelty. We only looked at some "cages" and are immediately back towards the exit, you can't look at that!!! Just the monkey at the entrance in a tiny cage. Terrible!! Those who love animals get the horror here. Eine Bitte an Tripadvisor: Please remove this item from the program, no one wants to see anything like this, thank you. Otherwise, all other points were worth the trip, even crocodiles and snakes seen in the wild on the mangrove tour. Blue Lagoon we imagined much bigger, but good. Lunch was very plentiful and delicious, we didn't make it. As I said, thank you again to the guide/driver of BintanTaxi

Our day in Bintan was very well taken care of, with first the mangrove boat ride which gave us the opportunity to view multiple snakes, then the safari with many local species, lunch at a Kelong on the ocean which was very peaceful and the food was very good. In the afternoon, we stopped to see a reclining buddha and we ended with the blue lake, which was very beautiful. Ari, our driver, made us feel very comfortable (always had bottles of water for us) and was a very safe driver. We highly recommend this tour and Ari if you end up on Bintan. This tour did not have many tourists and got us to see Bintan island from a local point of view.

A well paced tour with the knowledgeable local guide Rio. The Mangrove part is memorable and the Blue Lake is really beautiful. The car was comfortable.

We enjoyed the day although it rained for most of it. Our driver was able to reorganise things around the weather. We had a ride on an ATV, at the sand dunes at an extra cost. A very good seafood lunch. The best part was the Mangrove trip up the river in a small boat with Dave and Mr Alan. Certainly would have been a better day without the rain, but worth doing.

It was a great experience to view Bintan from a different perspective. The highlight of the trip was the speed boat in the mangroves. Witnessed plenty of tree snakes hanging right above our heads. An out of the world experience in the heavy rains. The zoo was another way to explore Bintan which we weren't aware of. Plenty of animals to see and you get to feed them. Amazing seafood by the waters, but we enjoyed delicious vegetarian food since we don't eat meat. The blue light was an icing on the cake which was so unexpected. Families with kids will definitely enjoy. Boat ride to the mangrove is highly recommended.

Enjoyable private tour. Budi who is both driver n guided has done great job. Car provided is comfortable. Lunch is great too but too much quantity. Great tour packages to cover most of the Bintan activities that we enjoy very much.

Fabulous full day trip made even more enjoyable by our English speaking tour guide. Rio was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
