Et besøg i Al Khor, der ligger 50 kilometer nord for hovedstaden Doha. Betragtes som en af Qatars største byer. Al Khor er hjemsted for mange ansatte i olieindustrien på grund af dens nærhed til Qatars nordlige olie- og naturgasfelter og til Ras Laffan Industrial City.
Stop ved Purple Island, også kendt som Jazirat bin Ghanim, omkring en times kørsel fra Doha. Det er en lille ø, forbundet med fastlandet af en smal sti, der er brudt på forskellige punkter for at lade vandet strømme mod mangroveskoven.
Beliggende omkring 35-40 km fra Doha, er Al Thakira-stranden et ideelt sted for svømning, solbadning eller tilbringe en afslappet dag på stranden. Stranden byder på fredfyldte udsigter over Qatars største og ældste tætte mangrovereservater.
Al Zubarah er Qatars største arkæologiske arv. Det blev udnævnt til et UNESCOs verdensarvssted i 2013 og er det bedst bevarede eksempel på en handels- og perlefiskerby fra det attende - det nittende århundrede i Golfregionen. I modsætning til dens samtidige er den stort set intakt og er ikke gået tabt under regionens store moderne byer. Pladsen, der ligger cirka 100 km nordvest for Doha, strækker sig 2,5 km fra Al Zubarah Fort til kysten. Byen blev grundlagt i midten af det attende århundrede og udviklede sig til landets største og vigtigste bebyggelse. Dens succes tiltrak sig opmærksomhed fra andre golfmagter, og efter adskillige angreb blev byen brændt ned til grunden i 1811. I de første årtier af det 20. århundrede blev den forladt. I dag dækker stedet et område på 60 hektar med rester af huse, Masajid (moskeer), Madhabis (datopresser), store, befæstede bygninger og et marked.

The Tour was very pleasant with the guide driver with whom we made it. He explained everything well and provided us with water and of course, invested us to a typical tea of the country. We visited Purple Island and Al Zubarak Fort. El Tour del Norte.
It was a very nice and pleasant walk with Zoahib, in English, explained many things and adapted the tour to our tastes, we had a great time with him and we could know several spectacular sites

Great chance to get out of Doha and see some of historic Qatar. My guide Zohaib was knowledgeable and friendly! Be aware, the shuttle to the village does not run on Fridays.

My tour guide Zohaid knows the lay of the land and was very helpful in pointing out notable structures, places and their significance. He also knows the history very well. He was able to give insight to the structures and locations; and was also nice and polite. I liked the views of the ruins of the old city - Al Jmeil and I definitely enjoyed reading the history of Al Zubara. The Mangroves were okay too.

The North Qatar 🇶🇦 tour should be included in everyone else’s bucket list! It’s absolutely amazing. You can learn so much about the history of Qatar, how and when it all begin! My Private tour was absolutely incredible. I have been picked up and dropped off via beautiful 4X4 car. My tour guide Ali was very knowledgeable, patient, encouraging , helpful and with a good sense of humour. He walk with me together with each stop that we made, took a lot of beautiful photos and even when I wanted to take an extra time to explore Al Zubair, he never ever rushed me. This is absolutely a MUST Do tour! Thank you Ali 🙏

This tour is a perfect way to see the country’s important cultural sites and do it comfortably! Our tour guide (driver) Irfan was very easy to talk to, rearranged the tour plan so we could make best use of our limited time to see (before closing) the fort and ancient site of Al Zubarah and come in time for sunset at Mangroves and Purple Island!

It was a very bad experience. First of all. The Purple Island isn't as it's seems in the photos. It doesn't have any water. Then because a reason that I didn't know, we arrive one hour late to the Fort, so we can't get into the facilities as the tour arrive one hour late. More than a tour this is a scam. I need the tour give me back my money. I don't pay just to go around the dessert.
