Nice: Gorges of Verdon og Fields of Lavender Tour

The towns we visited were beautiful, and our driver was friendly, professional, and the transportation was comfortable (although windy). However, the tour did not match the itinerary that was advertised, which was very disappointing. Several stops were much shorter than promised. Castellane was advertised as a one-hour stop but we only had about 30 minutes. In Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, there wasn’t enough time to both explore the village and have lunch as described. My biggest disappointment was that we never visited the advertised Plateau de Valensole or received the guided tour of a lavender processing plant. Instead, we stopped briefly at a random lavender field on the side of the road for photos before moving on. Since visiting Valensole was the main reason I booked this tour, I felt misled. Overall, Provence is stunning, but the itinerary should accurately reflect what guests will actually experience. I would have rated this much higher if the tour had delivered what was advertised.

Overall great tour and great guide and I really enjoyed. The lavender fields were nice and he took us to a few to make sure we got the full experience and I really appreciated that. I had read reviews before and saw that people said the guide comes a bit early for pickup so I knew to be ready but when he showed up early for other people and they weren’t ready he was rushing them and was not happy. So in all would recommend and it’s definitely worth your money but make sure to be ready like 10 min early.

We loved our trip and tour with Francois. He was super nice, shared a lot of history on the region and navigated traffic really well and extended our tour when we we had delays. I highly recommend Francois for a fun and beautiful day traveling to Verdon Canyon and Moutiers Sainte Marie. It is a 9 hour tour with mountainous driving so be prepared.

- The video attached to this trip implies that you will be on the water seeing gorges. This is not the case. - River boat is not part of this and is not negotiable with the driver. They make a 20 min stop on the bottom of the lake for a quick swim. They show you the gorge formation and little boats from the top of the mountain at a quick photo stop. 2. Most of the day is spent driving, not site seeing. Time to see villages is very limited. 3. A lot of driving is on the serpentine mountain road without guardrails and in some spots only passable by one car. Our driver was making an effort to slow down to a comfortable speed at each curb but if you are not used to cliff side driving, this trip is not for you 4. I would say that the trip is good if you want to have a day of a thrill filled riding. 5. Highway ride was way over the speed limit and aggressive 6. Trip mentions visit to lavender processing plant and it was not part of it. lavender fields were in bloom but the whole visit amounted to a quick photo stop. 7. Even with seeing the villages, this experience was not worth a day spent. You can find other trips to medieval villages closer by without all this driving.

Chris our guide was great. He is a good driver, patient and polite. We can truly recommend this tour. The group was max 8 pers that was nice.

The trip is good overall in terms of the places shown. The gorge is lovely, so are the lavender fields and villages but our guide, Adam was in such a hurry to end the trip right from the start. This included picking us up earlier than he had said and creating a sense of urgency throughout that wasn't required. He forced us to make a choice between spending time at Moustier St. Marie or boating on the gorge. In fact, both parts could easily have been accommodated as both are worth doing. If you go, make sure you all tell him to divide time between both and not skip the boating like we did.

Christian kindly arranged to collect us from Beaulieu Sur Mer which was a real help as my friend has restricted mobility and dropped us off in Nice on our return. The Verdon Gorge was a spectacle. We thought we could have had more information on the villages where we stopped. We were not blown way by a field of lavender We’ve experienced a better display of varieties in Norfolk, England with the manufacture process and shop.

This was a beautiful and relaxing day while visiting the French Riviera. The ride through the Alps, villages and countryside was breathtaking. I loved every stop. First was a stop to see waterfalls, then a small village by a river (Verdon gorges) where I had a yummy snack at the 'Artisan Boulanger' bakery, then photo stop of a huge lake with cliffs and turquoise water, then a stop at Moustiers-Saint-Marie village which was gorgeous with many little streets, cafes & shops a lot cheaper than in Nice (all towns by the ocean) so I bought great souvenirs and had the best almond croissant of my life, then we stopped at a lavender field which were in full bloom, and last a stop to see the lake from another angle. Our driver/guide was on-time picking me up at the hotel and we were 5 people in a comfortable van. I recommend this tour 100%.

I had an amazing day excursion with Clinton as our guide. We got to see the beautiful gorges of verdon which is why I booked this tour. The colour of the water was just unbelievable. Clinton provided history facts along the way and was an amazing driver in the twisty roads.

Incredible, I would do it again a thousand times with Clinton!
