We had a great time touring the cloud forest at night. Emanuel was so knowledgeable and skilled at finding animals we never would have spotted on our own. On our two hour walk we saw two species of toucans, monkeys, owls, several species of frogs, a porcupine and more. Excellent tour for the money.

One should definitely do this if one has a bit of interest in the local flora and fauna. We saw a sloth, a boa constrictor (baby), frogs, salamanders, and spiders.

The information says max 8 people in a group. It doesn’t say there are at least 4 other guides and at times we were all together looking for wildlife by the ponds. Not great. At other times 2 or 3 groups ended up at the same place and you found yourself being pushed out of the way by other visitors. Emmanuel was very knowledgeable and provided lots of information regarding the area we were in and the wildlife that we saw. Unfortunately I would not recommend due to the number of people and the noise they made.

At certain times, there may be a higher number of visitors, which can influence the flow of the tour. We also offer a private tour option with fewer participants at an additional cost for those who prefer a more personalized experience. I sincerely appreciate your comments, as they help me improve, and I hope that at least some moments during our time in the forest were enjoyable for you.
Had a great experience with Emanual! Was very knowledgeable and good with the children in our group and had an excellent eye for finding all sorts of animals. We saw toucans, tarantulas, snakes, frogs, an owl, and a mother sloth with a baby! Fantastic Tour!

I had a fantastic experience on the Night Hike in the Monteverde forests. Our guide, Emmanuel, was extremely knowledgeable and had an incredible ability to spot wildlife in the darkness. In conditions where it felt absolutely impossible for a beginner to find anything, he managed to locate a wide variety of animals with ease. I was genuinely amazed. He also carried a telescope, which allowed us to see animals high up in the trees or far away with impressive clarity. Thanks to that, we were able not only to observe them up close but also to take clear photos and videos through the lens—something I never expected to be possible on a night hike. Walking through the rainforest at night was a completely different experience from visiting during the day: quiet, mysterious, and full of nocturnal life that only comes out after sunset. Emmanuel’s expertise made the entire tour far more meaningful and memorable. Overall, it was a fascinating and highly rewarding experience. I would strongly recommend taking this tour with a knowledgeable guide like Emmanuel.

Our family had a great time doing the night walk with Emmanuel. He was so dedicated and made sure we had the best experience of viewing wildlife in the night. We spotted Toucans, tarantulas, hummingbirds among others. Emmanuel shared so many facts about the wildlife and also about Costa Rica. Highly recommend the night tour with Emmanuel for a complete Monteverde experience.
