Med afgang om morgenen fra Muscat kører vi mod til Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque er bygget af 300.000 tons indisk sandsten. Den vigtigste musalla eller bedesal er firkantet og 74,4 gange 74,4 meter (244 gange 244 fod) med en central kuppel, der rejser sig til en højde på 50 meter (160 fod) over gulvet. Kuppelen og hovedminareten (90 meter (300 fod)) og fire flankerende minareter (45,5 meter (149 fod)) er moskeens vigtigste visuelle træk. Hovedmusallaen kan rumme over 6500 tilbedere, mens kvindemusallaen kan rumme 750 tilbedere. Den ydre asfalterede grund kan rumme 8000 tilbedere, og der er yderligere plads til rådighed i den indre gårdhave og gangene, hvilket giver en samlet kapacitet på op til 20.000 tilbedere. Moskeen er bygget på et sted, der fylder 416.000 m2 (4.480.000 sq ft),[4] og komplekset strækker sig til at dække et areal på 40.000 m2 (430.000 sq ft). Den nybyggede Grand Mosque blev indviet af sultanen af Oman den 4. maj 2001 for at fejre 30 års regeringstid
Nakhal Fort Photo Stop kun udenfor på grund af under renovering. Drej derefter i land til den berømte Nakhal fæstning. Det ligger ved foden af bjergene i en hyggelig lille landsby, som dyrker omfattende dadelpalmeplantager. Denne storslåede 350 år gamle fæstning rejser sig op af bjergklippen og tårner sig højt over den gamle landsby, som om den stadig advarede angribere om dens ildevarslende styrke. Den har været vidne til mange kampe og er fyldt med skjulte flugtveje og hemmelige passager. Du kan slentre rundt på indersiden af denne restaurerede fæstning og besøge alle værelserne, som er pænt indrettet i den oprindelige gamle stil. Udsigten fra toppen af fæstningen over bjergene og grønne dadelplantager er enestående.
Nakhal Hotspring Efter fæstningen kører vi gennem den gamle landsby Nakhal til de varme kilder. Her finder du en smuk lille grøn Wadi. Den lille flod i Wadi har varmt kildevand, som du kan bade fødderne i. Her vil du se masser af lokale, som kommer for at gå en tur i det varme flodvand.
Beliggende 2.000 meter over havets overflade og i de vestlige Hajar-bjerge ligger landsbyen Wakan, en lille bjerglandsby med smukke terrassehaver med udsigt over de omkringliggende bjerge ovenover og Wadi Mistal nedenfor. Landsbyen Wakan er officielt en del af Wilayt Nakhal i det sydlige Batinah-guvernement, selvom den ligger lige ved grænsen til Al Dakhiliyah-guvernementet gennem Al Hajar-bjergkæden.

This was a great tour, combining a visit to Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque with several spots outside Muscat. Wakan Village in particular felt like a hidden gem as we hadn’t seen too many tours that went there, but it was absolutely worth the visit. Our guide Musab was also very friendly and ensured we had a good amount of time at each location. We’d definitely recommend this tour.

My 3rd tour with the company and more to go🤎we booked the tour 1 day prior because we really want to go to this Wakan Village and again Star tours never failed to arrange it for us. The tour was challenging for the weak-hearted I guess but we accepted the challenge and finished it to the top, my legs are proud they did it😅.

The walk through Wakan village was a delight. The views were stupendous and the way of life there quite an eye opener. The tour followed the advertised program exactly and timings were correct and generous. The driver /guide, Yahya, was friendly, informative and helpful. All in all a very successful day.

A wonderful trip we had to see the place of wakan village there’s a lot of mixed plants like grapes and a lot of apricot trees and there’s local people who’s living there some people are selling honey and some vegetables from their plants. To see the views from the top is really amazing.

We visited the place of Nakhal fort photo stop outside only because the fort still under renovations then next we had visited the Nakhal hotspring and from there we enjoyed the free foot spa from the small fishes. Then our last visited was the beautiful nature of wakan village. Our guide was helpful to carry our things while we are walking around 700 steps

Good way to view the interior and find a sense of solitude and views. Nakhal fort was undergoing restoration at time of visit so that was disappointing and the springs are nothing special - probably the option of Al Jabrin/Nizwa/Bahla might have been better. Driver Abdul, whilst late in arrival, was upbeat throughout and ready to answer any questions. Organised a good cheap lunch in Nakhal. Vehicle used was good quality 4WD,

I appreciate you reaching out and am sorry if you felt disappointed for the Nakhal Fort but from the beginning dear when we received your booking with us we mentioned that the Nakhal Fort it will be a photo stop outside only because it’s under renovation. About the Nakhal Hot spring there’s something special if you try to swim because that fresh water is coming from the mountains and it’s a little bit warm, and there’s also natural Fish spa you can just sit on the bank pop your feet into the warm water and let the tiny fish eat away the dead skin on your feet. And this is one of the best Hotspring in Oman and the people they swim when they get sick to relax their body, it’s also good for the people who have skin problem. I will be sure to pass your feedback on, and we’ll work on improving our customer service in order to meet your expectations in the future. It was more than700 steps we did to reach the top the higher you get the better views to see. And we had so beautiful photos and videos from the top. You need to save power when you go to visit this wakan village and make sure you have the bottle of water with you. Tired but really worth it to see this village.
