Kannan was an excellent tour guide who was very knowledgeable about the various places of interest in the Mylapore district. I found him engaging to talk to & also flexible in adapting the itinerary to suite my special interests. He also assisted me in locating the site of my grandfather's last residence in the area & for that I am deeply appreciative. I would certainly recommend his services to my network of friends & relatives should they plan to visit Chennai & the surrounding region.
Absolutely wonderful! I didn’t want to wake up early to stress before heading to the airport but I’m so glad we did. Even the coffee was an experience. Natarajan was a great guide, showed us and explained so much. And the driver, was very polite and always waited right in front to avoid too much walking in the heat. Fantastic!
What I most enjoyed is that my guide could explain intricacies in the decorations of each Hindu temple, the Jain temple and the Catholic church. Any question I had he knew the answer. This was a very memorable experience, when I visited the temples alone I loved their beauty but wasn't sure what it all meant. Now I have a closer idea to the meaning. Thanks for your kindness!
Ganesh was a terrific guide and I really appreciated all of the sights of Chennai that he introduced me too.
On Dec 26th, I did a Heritage Tour of Mylapore area in Chennai with Five Senses Tours. It was a great experience. We visited the famous Kapaleeshwar temple, Ramakrishna Math, Vivekananda House, Shirdi Saibaba temple, Santhome Cathedral Basilica and the Light House on Marina Beach. It was not exactly a walking tour (the tour was modified for me). I was picked up from my doorstep and dropped off at the same place. The guide was well informed and gave us the history and interesting facts of all the places visited. It was a spiritual experience and rounded off with a climb to the top of the Light House from which the view was breathtaking. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and look forward to doing more such tours with Five Senses.
Vijay was a great tour guide. He offered some good background information and stories for the neighbourhood and temples visited. As a non-Hindu, this information was really useful to understand the place, practices, and art at the temples. A great way to spend a couple hours getting to know Chennai a bit better.
