A must do - this excursion was the perfect escape from the busyness of the city. Convenient p/u and drop off spots. The elements of the tour itself were perfect. Our guide, David was friendly and informative. We had a great time! Thank you!
Saturday 26 Sept 2026. We met at 10:45 AM so we could depart at 11 AM. However, the tour bus company that provided transportation to the Mount Pilatus lift was 32 minutes late. After loading the bus, we did not depart until 11:45 AM. We got to the gondola at 11:52 AM, then had to stand in line to board gondolas up to Mt. Pilatus. That cut into our time on the mountain. As such - we didn't see all that we had wanted, and our lunch break was rushed. The views were spectacular, but the guide (Robert) was overwhelmed and had trouble communicating salient points to everyone in the entire group. And with the bus being as late as it was, that seemed to throw Robert off. The local bus company authorized Robert 100 CHF to purchase everyone in the group Swiss Army knife chocolates (one each at 2.90 CHF) to atone for the late bus. Therefore, I can only conclude that the price for being 45 minutes late is 2.90 CHF. We certainly did not blame Robert - he was at the will of the bus transport company. However, regardless of the reasons, the fact that they were as late as they were should give Tripadvisor pause - possibly consider contracting with another bussing company, or refund a pro rated amount back to the customers. The hour-long ferry ride back to Lucerne was very nice, and we met some nice people on the excursion that day. All-in-all, it was a favorable experience, but one I would not do again with this company.

That’s an awesome trip. The beautiful view from two type of cable car and from top of the mountain just wow ! Covers almost all the expectations in terms of ride. Covered a lot with in 6 hours. Understand little expensive but considering number of ride and distance it covered, it worth. I would recommend it to others. Last but not the least, the guide was also awesome!
We had a really good time. The views from the top of the mountain was spectacular and the lake boat trip finished up the trip nicely.
Booking with Viator is easy and the trip was very well organised. Our guide, Dave, looked after us well. I don't like heights but i was willing to give this a go and so pleased I did. The views were amazing.
We did this as a day trip from Zurich. Absolutely doable with an 11am start. Meet directions were clear. Yolanda did a great job explaining the schedule of the day. Bus to a gondola up- free time up at top of Mt Pilatus where you can stroll , climb or sit and have refreshments and people watch while taking in a great view. Tram down to a boat ride back to Lucerne. Could I have tried to cobble this together on my own? Yes but it would’ve taken so much time and all these timetables in another language…. Happy to have it all done for us. We had an abnormally warm day in September. T shirt weather. Had dinner in Lucerne & train back to Zurich by 8pm. Great day!!! Would recommend!!!
Great way to see the alps up close and personal. Beautiful views with a variety of hikes to do at the top depending on your fitness level. We were so lucky to have an absolutely gorgeous day! Only down side is the boat ride back while pretty is a little long, and by the time we boarded the boat the outdoor seats were taken. We did stand outside for awhile to catch the beautiful scenery.
The day was cloudy and by the time we got into the cable car it was pouring. However, in spite of the horrible weather, it was an amazing trip. Our guide Dominick, was excellent. He took good care of our large group.
Well organized trip, and a super efficient way to see a gorgeous mountain top and beautiful lake. Don’t miss this!
