Mount Faber, Henderson Waves og Southern Ridges Tour

Er du en, der nyder naturen og vandreture? Hvis ja, lad os opdage Southern Ridges, en række bakker og parker, der forbinder Kent Ridge Park, Hort Park, Telok Blangah Hill Park, Mount Faber Park og Labrador Nature Reserve. Under denne udflugt vil vi vandre til Henderson Waves, en fodgængerbro, der spænder over en dyb dal 36 meter under. Vi fortsætter derefter til Faber Point, det højeste punkt i Mount Faber Park. Fra observationsområderne der vil vi have en panoramisk udsigt over byen, den sydlige region af Singapore og de sydlige øer. Lær også om hverdagen for en gennemsnitlig singaporeaner og udviklingen af Singapores bolig- og maritime industrier. Denne vandretur tager dig gennem en sekundær skov med en mangfoldig variation af flora og fauna. Mens vi går langs trætoppene, skal du være på udkig efter den orientalske piskeslange, der soler sig på grenene, cikadens kald eller den stråhovede bulbuls sang. Denne rejse er bestemt et paradis for naturelskere!

Kryds på en forhøjet bro, der skærer gennem adinandra belukar, en særskilt type sekundær skov, hvor skoven regenereres efter udtømmende landbrugsudnyttelse. Hold øje med den rige flora og fauna, såsom den halmhovede bulbul, vævermyrereden eller den orientalske piskeslang, blandt trækronerne. Jeg vil også dele med dig de typer af dyreliv, der kan findes i Singapore.
Terrace Garden består af en række halvcirkulære terrasser placeret på toppen af Telok Blangah Hill. Herfra vil du være i stand til at nyde en betagende 360-graders udsigt over Singapore. Hvis du er heldig, kan vi måske se et hav af pink bougainvillea blomstre.
Henderson Waves er en fodgængerbro, der spænder over en dyb dal 36 meter under. Det unikke bølgelignende design af Henderson Waves giver et usædvanligt syn og et berømt fotospot.
Faber Point er det højeste punkt på bjerget Faber. Fra udsigtspunkterne her vil vi have en panoramaudsigt over byen, den sydlige del af Singapore og de sydlige øer. Hvis vejret er godt, vil vi være i stand til at se Marina Bay Sands langvejs fra! Fra disse udkigspunkter vil jeg også fortælle om den gennemsnitlige singaporeans liv, udviklingen af Singapores boliger og betydningen af den maritime industri for Singapore.

Was an amazing tour, our tour guide was Keith and he was very friendly and very patient. Always waited for us to catch up when we were going up the stairs. He was also very informative about plants and trees we passed. Absolutely recommend anyone taking this tour with Keith! He is the best!!,
Fantastic morning to hike the Southern Ridges! Keith was happy to spot the common hill mynah and thanks to Jill, the bronzeback snake. Peter and Jill are a lovely jovial couple. Enjoy your stay in Singapore :)

Fine day for a walk in the Southern Ridges. Keith was happy to spot not one, but two of our native green crested lizard together with you! And also the greater racket-tailed drongo. Julie and Paul are polite and happy to share their stories. Take care and safe flight home :)
Keith was a fabulous guide - very passionate and, as a Singapore local, very happy to share his knowledge of local life and culture, as well as the plant life we saw along the way. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone keen to see the green and largely unseen part of Singapore that lies so close to the centre. A reasonable degree of fitness is a prerequisite. While Keith takes plenty of time to stop and explain things along the way, getting up Mt Faber takes some energy!
Fantastic weather for a walk in the southern ridges! Keith enjoyed sharing about the local flora and fauna, and the 'toothpick' story on one of the palm tree. Wendy and Martin were polite and friendly guests! Take care and hope to see you again :)
This is a very well organised trip and Keith, our guide, provided very professional and clear communication via Whats App prior to the event, even adjusting the start from 8:30am to 9:30 am to accommodate our request due to our jetlag. The starting point at Hort Park office is easily reached by taxi for a reasonable price. On the morning of our walk the heavens opened and it started to rain heavily but this did not dampen our experience as Keith was really enthusiastic and professional and talked to us about a whole range of life, history and culture in Singapore. The walk itself is easy but there are some steep bits and some steps to navigate so should be borne in mind by those with mobility needs. The walk enabled us to see the nature that surrounds the city and when we reached the top of Mount Faber this afforded us with a brilliant view. Fortunately the rain had stopped at this point so we could see for miles. Keith was really entertaining and had a great sense of humour. He speaks really good English and was also very interested in what's happening around the world so we enjoyed good overall conversation as well as learning lots about the Singaporean way of life. Along the way he invited us to taste local produce from the area, including the notorious Durian fruit which has a very specific smell and taste and is not for the faint hearted! The end of the walk is located at the Mount Faber cable car station and I had booked a separate ticket for the cable car in order to combine the end of the walk with a trip over to Sentosa Island. I would recommend this combination to make a full day. Keith showed us the entrance to the station which was very kind. Thankyou Keith for being a great guide. A perfect way to amble away a rainy Sunday morning in Singapore.
A wet morning hike and glad you survived it, Julia & Paul! The intermittent rain was not part of the package but provided Keith the chance to share with you other topics on Singapore! He had fun learning of Lake District (pretty photos) from you as well. Take care and hope to see you again :)
Keith our local guide walked us through Hort Park , Henderson Wave Bridge and Mt Faber look out at a comfortable scenic pace. Keith was able to inform and answer our questions regarding the trees and plant growth, history of the area and knew where to take some lovely memorable photos along our walk. Not to mention a great local coffee cafe at the end of our tour that made a perfect latte coffee. Thank you. 5/5
