Montserrat er et kloster på toppen af en bjergtop beliggende på toppen af et usædvanligt klippebjerg. Det er det højeste punkt i det catalanske lavland. Montserrat kloster er vært for "la Moreneta", også kaldet Black Madonna. Klosterets oprindelse er usikker, men det menes, at Jomfruen af Monsterrat (La Moreneta) blev fundet omkring 880. (8.30 og 13.30 ture inkluderer billetter til La Moreneta). Ifølge legenderne byggede munkene klostret omkring statuen. Klosteret fungerer stadig den dag i dag med over 70 munke. Basilikaen i Montserrat begyndte sin konstruktion i det 16. århundrede og huser nu et kunstmuseum. This was an excellent full-day tour and one of the highlights of our time in Spain. The organisation was smooth, the guide was friendly, knowledgeable and engaging, and the driver made the day comfortable and stress-free. We felt safe throughout and everything ran on time. Montserrat itself was impressive, with incredible scenery, history and culture. Unfortunately, due to weather conditions and fire risk restrictions, some activities were unavailable on the day, including the walk to Saint Michael’s Cross and the Sant Joan Funicular. While that was disappointing, it was outside the control of the tour operator and safety always comes first. The standout for us was the winery visit and lunch. The food and wine were excellent, and the experience was made even better by the guide’s knowledge, storytelling and conversation around the table. It was a relaxed and enjoyable way to experience the region and learn more about local food and wine culture. We were a group of four and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the day. A well-organised tour that offers a great mix of scenery, history, culture, food and wine. Must do! Highly recommended.

We recently booked a full-day private tour from Barcelona with this agency and it was one of the best travel experiences we’ve ever had. The day flew by in the best possible way, packed with fascinating local insights, rich history, and visits to incredible UNESCO heritage sites. Our tour guide, Miro, was exceptional, easily the highlight of the entire day. He was incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and professional, delivering 5-star service from start to finish. Miro made sure everything ran seamlessly, answered all our questions with enthusiasm, and kept the perfect balance of information and fun for our mixed group. The transportation was top-tier: a luxurious, air-conditioned Mercedes van that was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable for the drives to and from Montserrat and the beautiful Oller del Mas winery. Our group of 10 persons thoroughly enjoyed the high-end wine tasting and the delicious selection of tapas at the winery. Everything was perfectly organized and felt like a truly first-class experience. If you’re looking for a memorable day trip from Barcelona, I cannot recommend this tour and Miro highly enough. Miro was an incredible tour guide. We traveled with our sons, ages 8 and 11, who peppered him with questions throughout the day. Miro was knowledgeable about not just the Montserrat monastery and wine region, but also niche Spanish and Catalan history. He made sure the kids felt included from the narrative he shared through getting a variety of juices for them while the adults had wine. I will absolutely recommend this tour to friends.
