We thoroughly enjoyed our food stops and learning the history of downtown! We would recommend the tour for those traveling or those that live in the area wanting to try something new.

The tour guide, Dan, was incredible. He was both knowledgeable and really engaging. The only complaints we had about the tour is that, upon arrival, there were no signs to indicate we were in the right place, so we thought we might be in the wrong place. We almost left but happened to run into Dan as he was arriving. The other problem we had was, for the price, we thought we might get a little more elevated dining experience with samples from some of the best of what Minneapolis has to offer. Instead, we stopped at a burger place, a pizza place, and a place where we ate cheese curds. We would love to have Dan on any tour we could take. We just wish the other aspects of the tour would have met expectations.

Fun food tour.

Dan was a very personable and helpful guide with lots of interesting historical information about Minneapolis. Food stops were a nice variety of local cuisine and we left unable to eat another bite. We felt like the tour gave us a nice overview of the city and I would highly recommend taking it.

Great variety of food options from local restaurants

Collin gave us a great tour of many historical buildings, Minneapolis history stories, and a tasting menu from various restaurants and foods from local restaurants south and north of the Mississippi River. Definitely a tour to checkout for a nice late lunch.

Fantastic food tour

Our group of three was it for our group which was nice, although we learned a typical group size is 8. We found Collin easily at the meeting point and then headed to the first location inside Graze Food Hall where we tried cheeseburger fries with jalapenos. I'm a French fry girl so I thought for sure this would be my favorite of the tour because they were amazing (they were my sister and husband's favorite), but they weren't. From there we headed to the next spot where we had fried cheese curds. These were good but not anything extraordinary. This is a local fav though so glad we were able to have this too. Then we went to the next place and had perogies. This was my favorite! So yummy! The last stop was for ice cream. Each stop the food is awt up as shareables but at the ice cream shop everyone gets their own small cup. I got the oatmeal one and if you like oatmeal cookies... Get it! It's so good. Hubs and I have done a ton of food tours and we're often overstuffed at the end. This was a smaller tour and portions were good so we walked away satisfied but not over full. I definitely recommend this tour!

Good guide, OK food choices

Our tour guide, Dan, was personable and entertaining. The food choices were just ok--enjoyed the cheese curds but pizza was nothing extraordinary..we.had to eliminate.some regular stops due to hot weather.

Dan, the man, some stories, and the food that built this country.

Dan shared a warm humid afternoon with us providing a lot of interesting information about the local buildings and architecture and the history of how they came about. We did a nice couple mile walk stopping occasionally for some typical Minneapolis food fare. I guess pretty typical for the area is beef fries, which is french fries covered with a mixture of ground beef, some tomato-ish sauce, a Velveeta or a cheese whiz topping. Kind of like an American poutine. We also had deep fried cheese curds at a different restaurant and then thin crusted Neapolitan style pizza followed by some very delicious homemade ice cream from a place called Fletcher’s. Of course Dan provided the history of each of these dishes as well as the establishments of wence they came. Dan knows a lot about a lot!

Great tour guide; delicious food and beverages

My friend and I recently took a walking food tour in Minneapolis with Collin, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Perhaps due to rain our tour group was just the two of us and Collin thoughtfully adjusted the route and pace to accommodate the weather while ensuring we still had a fantastic experience. One in our party has limited walking ability; we especially appreciated Collin’s flexibility and attention to everyone’s comfort. One of our favorite stops was Cafe Yoto, a Japanese restaurant where we sampled several excellent dishes, including chicken gyoza and karaage donburi. We also enjoyed a fantastic strawberry matcha!  It’s the kind of place we’ll gladly revisit on future trips. Another highlight was Backstory Coffee Roasters, where we enjoyed expertly prepared coffee and great conversation. What truly set the tour apart, however, was Coll a in himself. He shared fascinating insights into Minneapolis history, architecture, adaptive reuse projects, and the diverse communities that have shaped the city. His enthusiasm for Minneapolis and Minnesota was evident throughout. What impressed us most was Collin’s ability to listen. Rather than following a script, he tailored the experience to our interests and explored topics we genuinely wanted to learn about. He also offered personalized restaurant recommendations for the rest of our trip, which proved incredibly helpful. This was far more than a food tour—it was a chance to experience Minneapolis through the perspective of someone who knows and loves the city. The blend of great food, local history, engaging conversation, and genuine hospitality made it a memorable experience. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Minneapolis. Rain or shine, Collin delivers an informative, delicious, and welcoming experience.
