Mindo – Nambillo er et økologisk reservat, med omkring 22.000 hektar primærskov. Inden for dette bevarede område kan vi finde et naturligt kompleks af 15 vandfald, hver af dem med en anden højde og skønhed! Din guide vil afhente dig kl. 08:00 fra dit hotel i Quito for at besøge dette fascinerende sted fuld af dyreliv!
Når du er 1.900 meter over havets overflade (6,233 fod), vil humlefugle, luftplanter, orkideer og andre overraskende eksotiske arter få vores fulde opmærksomhed! Efter at have gået hele vejen gennem den kurvede vej, vil vi stoppe på en Hummingbirds' gård for at nyde åndedræbende oplevelser med disse små skabninger og det fantastiske landskab.
Efter at have taget masser af billeder og slow-mo videoer, vil du slappe af med en kop kaffe på en lokal kaffeplantage. Derefter kører du ned til landsbyen Mindo, som ligger på den sydlige kant af Choco / Andesiske hotspots af biodiversitet, der strækker sig fra det sydvestlige Colombia til det nordvestlige Ecuador. Mindo området har international betydning for fugle, udpeget som det første område i Sydamerika af Birdlife International i 1997. På dette fortryllende grønne rige en overflod af liv venter på din opdagelse! Det er derfor, du vil tage en bådtur, der går gennem en 530 meter lang kabel, for at nyde landskabet på den anden side af bjergene!
Efter den uforglemmelige kabelbane tur, vil det være muligt at vandre omkring 1 time, afhængigt af dine fysiske forhold, for at besøge den smukkeste vandfald kendt som "Nambillo", hvor du kunne have en forfriskende sug! Din private guidede tur vil introducere dig til skovens frodige vegetation, dens fugleliv og de fascinerende tilpasninger til livet i dette særlige miljø.
Du vil have tid til frokost, hvis du finder det nødvendigt. Derefter vil du have en uforglemmelig og pædagogisk dessert på en chokolade-tasting-tur!
Hvis der er noget tid tilbage, vil det være muligt at gøre et besøg på en orkidé og sommerfugl gård. Omkring klokken 5: 30 er du tilbage på dit hotel i Quito. Slut med denne fantastiske oplevelse på en dag fyldt med vidunderlige opdagelser!

Diana was a great guide. She was punctual, professional, knowlegable and lots of fun! Feeding the hummingbirds was magical and the hike thru the Mindu Cloud Forest was challenging but rewarding and beautiful. Our last stop was a coffee tasting and we loved it! Overall a great experience and a great day! We highly recommend this tour!
Ximenez was a great guide. She showed me what I wanted to see and did her best to get me back to my hotel in time. She knew a lot about the plants and animals in the forest and even took me to a great coffee place.
Ivan was a fantastic guide! Very knowledgeable about Ecuador and its plants and animals (especially birds), flexible, and willing to tailor to our interests. We had some extra time and were able to add an experience (at our expense) to see some more birds. The hummingbird experience was beyond expectations. The hike was a little challenging in spots, but seeing the waterfall was worthwhile. The butterflies were beautiful and numerous. Ivan was able to accommodate multiple dietary restrictions for lunch. Overall, highly recommend!
The hummingbird experience was a once in a lifetime experience. Hugo was an amazing guide. So very knowledgeable on a breadth of topics and a genuinely nice man. We did the chocolate tasting and it was done very personally. Do the chocolate mask. Well worth it. We had a 2nd chocolate tasting at another company in Quito and it didn't come close to the one we did in Mindo.

If you have poor balance or any concerns with your knees/back, beware that the waterfall hike portion in Mindo is very slippery. Bring hiking shoes and hiking poles or as to skip it to avoid injury. I slipped (I have bad balance) and luckily walked away with only a bruised tailbone and elbow. Otherwise, the place is beautiful and interacting with the hummingbirds (so many different kinds!!) is magical.

I had a great day with Ivan as my guide. We saw lots of hummingbirds up close, even sitting in my hand. We had a nice hike to a waterfall and rode the tram back. Then we went to another reserve to see Tanagers, more hummingbirds of every color and size. We even saw Toucanets! Great day!

We had no idea what to expect of Ecuador, but we've been bowled over. The scenery is beautiful, the people warm and friendly. Our guide today was Mariam, from the start she was engaging and informative. As for value, incredible. Nothing prepared us for feeding humming birds out of our hand. A coffee at a local café broke up the journey to Mindo. The Cloud Forest started with a cable car, down a valley to a waterfall for a swim and then a challenging return up to the car. Finally a visit to the Yumbos Chocolate museum and outlet for the best $10 with a tour, hot chocolate and then a tasting. Brilliant, Miriam, you're a star.
