A very enjoyable tour. Barbara was very informative and funny. The tour ran very smoothly with lots of opportunities to ask questions.
Got off to a little rocky start as the tour operator had no flag that made them easy to find - instructions were unclear. However, our tour guide, Valeria, was so awesome she more than made up for it. Her knowledge, energy and personality brought the Duomo to life through the ages due to her fantastic storytelling. She was so wonderful and made the whole experience very memorable!
Though I have reviewed what I purchased and even the emails sent to me, when it STATES: “Rooftop access provided” if paid for (which I did), that means either taking the stairs OR the elevator (LIFT) IS INCLUDED in the COST!! WORDS HAVE MEANING!! Bottom line, at my age and knee issues, I can not walk up 251 stairs as I need to take the LIFT. VIATOR TITLES SHOULD state in “ “ STAIRS OR LIFT as an OPTION. To be told that is what I paid for (the stairs), it must be in little print….. overall, thank goodness I have a kid that can take the stairs and provide video afterwards.
Ticket did not had to be redeemed which is always convenient. Meeting point was just next to duomo. Guide was very good.
I guess there was a change to my tour but neither the emails or app told me what the change was. It turned out it was the time and I never received what the new time was so I missed my tour. I happened to run into the tour guide and her colleague who were able to get me a ticket to go inside the Duomo and on the roof. But I didn't have the tour which I was looking forward to and paid for.
Spectacular building, unfortunately 50% of the exterior was not visible because of undergoing renovations. Viator should make this known to their clients and reduce the price since you don't get full experience. Barbara was a knowledgeable tour guide, but only a 45 minute talking tour for 1 hour 45 minutes experience.

We do, however, feel a responsibility to future travelers reading this review to offer some context. The Milan Cathedral has been under continuous restoration for over 600 years. This is not a temporary inconvenience , it is a permanent and well-documented reality of one of the world's greatest Gothic monuments, proudly stated by the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo itself. Maintenance work on isolated spire sections is as much a part of the Duomo experience as the marble itself. The suggestion that 50% of the cathedral was not visible is something we are unable to corroborate. The main facade is fully uncovered. The interior , 40 monumental columns, extraordinary stained-glass windows, and over 3,400 unique statues , is entirely accessible. Thousands of guests visit with us every month and consistently describe the experience as spectacular. We are a tour operator. The architectural preservation schedule of a 14th-century cathedral is, understandably, outside our jurisdiction. We hope this context is helpful to anyone planning their visit. The tour guide Korina was excellent; personable, knowledgeable, and helpful. The guided tour was about 45 minutes and the free time to explore this amazing cathedral.
Meeting point well described and easy to find. Explanations well done, tour guide seemed flustered and nervous and her talk sounded rehearsed right out of a book, without any personal or tif bit historical information outside of guide book.
The 1 hr 45 min tour was the perfect amount of time for my family of 4 with two teenagers. Fast enough to keep our attention but provided enough details that we all learned a lot. Fadia was a lovely tour guide, very engaging and knowledgeable. We bought the ticket with rooftop access which was worth the views and seeing more of the beautiful architecture of the spires closer.
Barbara was an excellent guide, informative, friendly with a wonderful personality. Very knowledgeable with a nice sense of humour
