This is one of the more unique food tours I’ve done. It ultimately wasn’t for me, but it may be a good fit for the right person. I booked this tour expecting something closer to a Michelin-style experience (it seems the advertising has since been adjusted from the previous Michelin star photo). It ended up being the most expensive food tour I’ve taken without the food quality or variety matching the price (though alcohol was included every stop). The first two stops consisted of a few small shared appetizers, followed by one larger shared entrée and two shared desserts (this was the most substantial part of the tour), and the evening ended with four shared desserts. Everything is served family-style, including the vermouth tasting. For comparison, I did another food tour in Buenos Aires this trip for around $100 that included five restaurants, more variety and representation of best local food, better historical context, and similar portion sizes. Because of that, this tour felt overpriced, and I could have spent less (and eaten similarly) going on my own. The guide was very friendly and personable—more like dining with a friend than being led by a traditional guide. If you’re looking for a social, conversational experience, this is a plus. However, there was less focus on food history, cultural context, or structured storytelling than I’ve experienced on other food tours. The tour wasn’t very organized, with food being ordered after sitting down at each stop. While this allows flexibility and trying new things, it also made the experience quite slow. The tour lasted about five hours, making it the longest food tour I’ve been on. Go if: • You want a long, relaxed, social, dinner-style experience • You enjoy family-style sharing and conversation • You prefer a casual, local, small-operation feel Not for you if: • You’re looking for an efficient, well-structured food tour and want value for money • You want a broad overview of the city’s top foods Overall, it’s more of a five-hour social dining experience than a traditional food tour
Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review. We truly appreciate honest feedback like this, as it helps future travelers understand exactly what kind of experience this is — and just as importantly, what it isn’t. Our Mendoza Food Safari is intentionally designed as a long, relaxed, social dining experience rather than a fast-paced or highly structured food tour. The focus is on sharing plates, conversation, local spots, and enjoying the evening at an unhurried rhythm — very much like dining out with friends — which we understand may not align with everyone’s expectations, especially if someone is looking for a Michelin-style or highly educational food tour. We also appreciate you highlighting the guide’s friendly and personal approach, as well as the social and conversational atmosphere, which many guests value as one of the strongest aspects of this experience. Your comparison and comments about pacing, structure, and value are completely fair, and we take them seriously. We’re continuously refining how we communicate what this experience offers so guests can choose the option that best fits their travel style and expectations. Thank you again for joining us in Mendoza and for sharing your perspective so clearly. We truly wish you many more great food experiences on your travels — in Argentina and beyond. Warm regards, Boris Founder & Director
Our guide Antonella was very knowledgeable about many topics, including; the history of Mendoza, food, wine, and we even talked a little philosophy, but if you're looking for a fun time don't let that scare you off. She has a very fun personality!
This is not a Michelin level gourmet experience. It is a fantastic not to miss food experience. This is curated by a local of excellent food. Some of the best food we have had in Argentina. Macarena our guide should get better than a 5 star rating. A blast.
Hi Veena, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We really appreciate your honest feedback. As you mention, our Food Safari is not intended to be a Michelin-starred fine dining experience, but rather a carefully curated journey through some of Mendoza’s most beloved local restaurants — places that truly represent our food culture. We’re very happy to hear that it ended up being a “not-to-miss” experience for you and that some of the best food you had in Argentina was during the tour. Your kind words about Macarena mean a lot to us. She is an incredible guide and truly passionate about sharing Mendoza through food, and we’ll make sure she receives your special mention ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you again for joining us and for valuing what we aim to do: authentic, local, and memorable experiences. We’d love to welcome you back anytime! Warm regards, Boris & the Futuro Travels team 🍷✨
Excellent wine, food and pace. Leader had good knowledge of food, culture and history of the region. Open communication sparked lively discussion.
Very fun time with Antonella who showed us around and kept us informed on all of the great gastronomy Mendoza has to offer. I would recommend this tour to anyone trying to taste all of the great restaurants Mendoza has to offer.
Macarena was an amazing host and very welcoming. It felt like an old friend was taking us to her favorite restaurants and introducing us to the local food and culture. Be sure to bring your appetite, it is a lot of food.
Rocio was a great guide. She made us feel like we were old friends catching up over dinner. The food and wine at every restaurant was delicious.
Unique way to see the city, and certainly worth. Nice experience and great food. Eat, walk, eat, walk, eat walk and eat more. I loved it

We had a great time on the food safari! Highly recommend Antonella. She introduced us to 4 delicious restaurants but more importantly shared her love of Mendoza. We learned a lot about this wonderful city.
