Materuni Vandfald & Kaffetur Omkring 20-30 minutter uden for Moshi er Materuni vandfald. Da denne tur er så tæt på, er den ideel til de mennesker med begrænset tid, men som gerne vil se nogle af de natur og skønhed, som denne region i Tanzania har at tilbyde. Disse fald er mindre end den tidligere beskrevne Ndoro, men stadig temmelig impresive på 150 meter høj og absolut et syn værd at se. Fra Materuni Village vil vi gå omkring 30 minutter til vandfaldet. Løbet i sig selv er meget interessant, da du vil se nogle mindre vandfald og masser af vandveje, som er en del af de lokale landmænds kunstvandingssystem, der dyrker kaffe, bananer og mange andre frugter og grøntsager.

Fra landsbyen Materuni går vi en time til vandfaldet. Selve turen er yderst interessant, da du vil se nogle mindre vandfald og masser af vandveje, som er en del af kunstvandingssystemet hos de lokale bønder, der dyrker kaffe, bananer og mange andre frugter og grøntsager. Ved vandfaldet kan du endda forfriske dig i det kølige og krystalklare vand, glem ikke at medbringe dit badetøj! Her vil du også pause til frokost, før du tager en kort rundtur i landsbyen Materuni for at se det typiske liv for Chagga-stammen. Landsbyen, der ligger i en højde på omkring 1300 m (4300 ft) over havets overflade, ligger i et dramatisk landskab med høje stigninger og dybe dale, alle dækket af tropisk regnskov. Kaffe tur Landsbyen Materuni producerer mange letfordærvelige varer, herunder yam, sukker, majs og bønner. Den vigtigste afgrøde, der dyrkes, er dog kaffe. I landsbyen vil du kunne lære om processen, hvorfra kaffen dyrkes, til den endelig hældes, dampende varm i koppen.

As other reviews might have mentioned, our hotel was also overcharging us for a return taxi drive to the Materuni waterfall including the hike. We came across Prosper through a recommendation and it made our stay in Moshi incredibly pleasant on top of a very reasonable price for his service This man is incredibly polite and such a pleasure to spend time and talk with. The type of guy to stop the car for you so that you can take some good pictures of Kilimanjaro. All in all, if you want to have a good time in Moshi, choose for Prosper.

After being in Tanzania for nearly 2 weeks, we had already done a safari and hiked Kilimanjaro, so we wanted something to do and explore with our last day. We spoke to the hotel and they put us in touch with Prosper Mmary, who became our taxi driver/ tour guide for the day! What a day! We experienced a rainy day, in dry season, so the drive to the waterfall was an unexpected challenge. The mud road was slick and soggy, we got stuck just before the location, so all the lads that run the coffee tour came down to push us out the bank and up the hill! This was a hilarious start to the day. The coffee tour was a great experience and highly entertaining. My partner and I had actually done one previously in a different country, but this was a whole different show. The Coffee Boys showed us their plantation, explained how the coffee grows and is processed and then sang to us, while getting us involved in picking, shelling, roasting, grinding and finally tasting the coffee! I’ve never had such a fresh brewed coffee! At the end of the tour, it was souvenir time, which we were happy to get some fresh coffee and my girlfriend got some local artwork (everyone pushes their artwork in Tanzania) We decided that due to the rain, we had to skip the waterfall, as it would have taken over the double the time there and back. Instead, Prosper took us on a trip back down to dry land, out the mountain, through some local towns/ villages and to the Hot Springs, which wasn’t as hot as I was hoping, but was yet another great thing to see! All in all, we had a great day and I would happily recommend Prosper as a tour guide, he was very helpful and polite, spoke great English, was very knowledgable of the area and stopped for every photo opportunity we wanted A great last day, to an altogether amazing holiday
