Nationalparken Masaya Volcano dækker et område på 54 km² og inkluderer to vulkaner og fem krater. Vulkanerne er udbrudt flere gange i historien og blev frygtet af både urbefolkningen og de spanske erobrere. Spanskerne døbte den aktive vulkan “La Boca del Infierno” eller “The Mouth of Hell”. De placerede et kors, “La Cruz de Bobadilla” (opkaldt efter far Francisco Bobadilla), på kraterlæben i det 16. århundrede for at udrydde Djævelen.

På denne tur vil du møde en af Nicaraguas mest aktive vulkaner. Ved natnedgang, vil du nå toppen af vulkanen med køretøj. Vidne til en unik naturbegivenhed og se en lavasø flyde fra bunden af krateret, der danner en flod af magma, der skinner i mørket og belyser vulkanens indre. Spektaklet begynder, når himlen bliver mørk eller allerede er mørk, så du kan se tusindvis af stjerner. Vinden flyder frit. Du hører en lyd som havets rummel. Og fra kanten af krateret, lige til bunden af det, vil du se en fantastisk lava sø, der bevæger sig med sin glødende farve. Besøget på krateret varer mellem 10 og 20 minutter (afhængigt af det samlede antal besøgende ved indgangen). Hver dag, siden solnedgang, begynder besøget af Masaya Volcano Night Tour kl. 16:00. Hvis der er folk eller grupper foran dig, skal du stå i kø, da besøgende er tilladt at komme ind og gå til krateret i ankomstorden.

I did the Masaya Volcano „night“-tour and the Aguas Agrias & Monte Verde chocolate tour. Both tours were amazing! Fredder is really nice and funny, and he has a lot of knowledge to share 😊 I really recommend this company!!
We had an excellent trip to Masaya Volcano where we saw the view both in daylight as well as at night. Abbott was an exceptional guide with great knowledge of the history of the area. He was also amazing at hearing all the different birds in the area & pointing them out. You will not be disappointed with this trip.

From the very beginning to end: 10/10 + brownie points to boot!! We booked a few activities with Next Adventure Nicaragua: 1. the Night Tour at Masaya: really cool to see the glow of lava!! And seeing steam coming from small hot pockets along our trail; it was interesting to witness, coming from the Arctic. 2. Chocolate Tour: leaning about the preparation of chocolate to making your own little chocolate bar was fun, and so was our host. 3. Zip lining on Mombacho Volcano, the guys were great with clear instructions, felt super safe and free, good for everyone!! You walk downhill yo the first platforms, then zipline further down the hill. Once you’ve completed the 5 ziplines, it’s another 5 minute walk downhill where a bus picks you up and drops you back where you started. So it’s good for anyone to take part in. We had a great time!! Booking with Next Adventure Nicaragua was one of the best choices we made. Moses was helpful in making suggestions and helping to get us organized with what activities we wanted to do, patient with all the questions I had, and answered all of them. Even sent me a video on how to make the booking as I kept reserving the wrong packages. They picked us up and dropped us off, they made it effortless and convenient for your travels in every way!!! Great team, great spirit! So many options of activities to choose from, sorry we didn’t have more time to do more!! Thank you guys for everything!!!!

Very fun activities, Moses was very professional, he saved us a lot of time and his company made our activity fun and enriching. We recommend it to you to learn better about the culture but also to make everything faster and easier. His English is perfect which allows us to ask all the necessary questions and better organize our trip! Moises was an absolutely exceptional guide. He was well informed on all aspects of Nicaragua and was personable and fun. He has a really great and comprehensive perspective on the country, nature, and... just all of it! He turned our experience into an informative and awesome evening and was super flexible in accommodating our plans. Just for comparison- last time I went to the Masaya Volcano, I booked a different guide bc I didn't know any better. They essentially dumped us off, told us nothing, and charged a ton of money. Not Moises! He spent so much time making sure we had the best evening ever. Book with this company- you absolutely won't regret it!!!
